Jaguar X Type Air Con Fix After Battery Change

Putting a new battery on my 2001 Jaguar X Type 2.5 V6 Petrol Manual caused the Air Con to go mad and only pump out at full heat. This video shows how to recalibrate the air conditioning control system and make it work again. Afterwards there are a few more tricks you might try including a hard reset of the ECU.

Check you fuel regulator vacuum line. Its plugged into the back of the manifold (looks like the old ht lead). If you have not replaced it recently then there is a good chance its broken. Flimsy plastic crap that will cost you £20. Mine broke in two places and it was replaced 5 years ago.

Hey I need help I have a 2002 jaguar x type 2.5 . And I have a oil leak but I am trying to see if my oil sensor switch is leaking because the oil light flickers on and off in a weird manner sometimes not to mention I want to know where the oil sensor is located so I can see if the oil leaking from the area is from the sensor area. I would appreciate a reply please.

It seems changing a battery can cause all sorts of problems,I was advised that when changing a battery it is best
to connect a power pack to the neg and pos cables before removing and replacing the battery that way no codes are lost and
no effect on ecu and other modules, I recently changed the battery on my X type this way and have had no problems.
My partners mondeo had the battery replaced and since there have been many problems
including a fault with the ecu that cant be rectified without replacing it.

Glad you got your air con back up and working ok, mine has the screen presume the reset would be the same procedure for either but mines never got stuck hot or cold touch wood

Michael says:

Do the dtc mean anything? Nothing comes up on my obd reader. My air con has not been used for 3 years.
