I like the gear knob, where was that from?

I have to ask- is the shifter knob on the car OEM? It looks outstanding. Where can I get one?

Outstanding…more more more more more…..
I've restored Jaguars since I was a kid. In fact every car i have owned has been a Jaguar.
As a kid in highschool in the 90s my first car was a Mk2..then onto others..all rolling daily driver restos.

Having lived abroad many years and just returning, I am looking into the newer (now older) post 2000 cars, researching, etc…well, I feel the last true Jaguars were in the 80s..sure the XJS and XJ6 were improved. The AJ16 is a great motor…

We could say 2000 was the end..The XK8 and S Type with their new V8 was really quite nice and valiant efforts. But they were retro, not fresh..a fitting end.

…the later XK8 lost its way losing all curves, all cars look the same today and planned obsolescence is built in…new cars are rubbish as is new XJ..Jaguar is no more as far as I am concerned as all other makes…Harley Davidson, you name it..

This all said, researching, considering the S Type as updated Mk2 for myself, or even early XK8 with their wonderful curves, well, new cars are computers that happened to have a motor….and all this cross pollination ..ford platforms, parts, engines!? whew…strange. Why not keep the AJ16?!

Latest car I owned were V12 XJs models….from the late 80s…driving in the late 90s…so they were by no means new.

I mean who needs an electronically controlled parking brake, tire air sensors, computer screens in a car?! Just more things to go wrong and not work…and eliminating driver experience.

Perusing forums is often the blind leading the blind as one sensor out causes unrelated issues, and people drive them today expecting Toyota maintenance free driving…they still have their Jaguar idiosyncrasies.

This all said…your videos are very helpful and appreciated as it is not easy to find info on them clearly…

Your efforts are really appreciated.
Off soapbox now.
