Jaguar: No Tail & Dash Lights

Jaguar: No Tail & Dash Lights

This classic Jag XJ8 lost its tail, dash, and front fog lights.

My father in law already purchased a new Body Processor Module based on the recommendation of certain “seasoned Jaguar professionals” since apparently that is a common failure.

However I told him that we’re not replacing the BPM until I perform a proper diagnosis.

Will any parts be required?

Thanks, good fix, ive got a problem with drivers window and mirrors not working off the switch, bought a new switch no change ? can you help me ?

A Dot In The Shark says:

proof positive, to be a mechanic today you also have to be an electronics tech. One longs for the old days of power, switch, load and ground.

Alan McClelland says:

Special thanks for this one Ivan. I have an 98 XK8 so this will probably applicable if I ever have the same problem.

Truck Mechanic says:

Jaguar??? LMAO!! They are so cheap to buy most people instead of putting money in one they just buy another one in perfect condition and ain’t worth $2500 bucks because it cost so much for parts and work on it

Garth Clark says:

Hopefully Father-in-law gets his refund. In our area, electrical parts get no return/no refund. Those engineers ever hear of supporting wires at their connections when they are subject to movement ?

Jeremy Austin says:

Quit the anti Jag moaning… that's all high quality ford engine and electronics. How old is it…still works

Bart Young says:

Did you get a little nervous grounding the red/yel wire on your father in laws Jaguar after that last Subaru window?

Fred J. says:

Seems like you get some REAL "different/strange' repairs on oddball not real popular cars, no? Go Ivan!!

That's not a car that should be sold out soon. I saw you working on many newest cars in terrible condition.
Great classy car and great eye Ivan.

UNEEK LOGIK says:

How are you powering up the TS100 iron.?

Wildturkey10121 says:

Good Job Ivan, I had a brake light switch with a broke wire and a steering column that is notorious for breaking wires soI replaced the multi function switch once solved my issues but am waiting for more broken wires. I get a b1352 or something it has to do with the dinger that works when it wants to pretty much not so worried, but the back door on my 98 f150 won't open that perplexes me more!

Henry The 83rd says:

I asked you a question about the ABS in the other jaguar video. Not sure if you saw it. Please let me know if you know what could possibly be causing the issue in my '07 Toyota Camry Hybrid.

Art Tafil says:

What do you expect? ITS A JAGUAR!!!!!

CarFan Hilton says:

Excellent results. I'm currently trying to figure out a non working sub woofer on a Jaguar XFR.

Bill Neu says:

You are a good son in law Thanks for your videos never miss one Bill N LINY

Tom O'Connor says:

Let the pilots leave the diagnostics to the techs. Better to be a good barman than a bad neurosurgeon. Control tower do you read me, over.

Arliss Wooten says:

Sniper! Get down, Ivan. I saw the red light! Yes, I know what it is before everyone goes crazy. Stop typing.

throttle bottle says:

we'll be seeing this car very often in the future….. well unless Ivan refuses to work on it anymore :))
