How to replace Jaguar XF trunk springs

Trunk not popping open when you press the trunk button on the key fob? The little springs on the trunk hinge are the culprit.

Have you tried adding spacers to the springs? It worked for me. See this thread: http://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=79962&page=2 (post #11)

My 12 XF pops the trunk unlocked but does not open the trunk automatically. Thought this was normal though. It is suppose to open the trunk completly open when pushing the trunk botton?

Hi Hilton,
thanks to you a month ago I finally bought an XF '10 and loving it 🙂
A question re the video above – did you finally manage to fix the boot opening? I'm having the same issue in my car and wondering if rather than replacing springs I should go straight for the gas struts. Cheers!

Who did you order the springs from?
