Were you able to re-use the green sealing ring between the pump and tank? Got everything else ready for the job, but would have to wait a week and pay $20+ for a new sealing ring, so looking to avoid that if I can. Thanks!

I subscribe bc of this video. I have two jaguar x types and one of them needs a fuel pump. I’m going to do it myself.

Doesn't look like the drive side flange is lined up with the mark on the tank for accurate fuel reading

I gotta say it.
This job is a disaster.
Mickey mouse hack job. I will watch these videos for entertainment. And use as a gauge for what NOT to do.
You ruined this car. The tank should have been dropped properly, yes it takes more time but then its done correctly without cutting the rear of the car up. Dont get me started on the junkyard parts that were not correct for the vehicle. Example (electrical connection.) Will it provide spec fuel volume and pressure ?
At this point you could find yourself fighting misfire DTC's, fuel ratio and or lean DTC's forever.
And BTW, they have fuel pump tools to remove and reinstall the fuel pump properly instead of beating it with a chisel and hammer.
On a good note, one thing you did do correctly is clean out the old gas and debris from the tank.
Otherwise it would have been a top ten most horriffic hack of all time. Now its just up there, but not at the very top, just close..
SMH…..

Both my 3.8 Camaros had pump failure at around 180xxxkm. Never let the tanks go empty and both tanks had no dirt whatsoever. I think those cars either have bad pumps or bad wiring from the factory. Either way I did both pumps the same way. On the Camaro just gotta lift the carpet at the rear and move the sound insulation and there are diagrams online so you don't cut it wrong. There is not even a inch clearance so you gotta be careful. I did mine with metal shears because I didn't want to blow up and die :).
