How to replace a 2002 Jaguar S-type Rearview Mirror

How to remove and replace the rearview mirror on a 2002 Jaguar S-Type.

My husband Jim couldn’t find a video or how-to on how to remove and replace the rearview mirror on my 2002 S-type, so when he figured it out, we made this video to help other folks with the same problem. The part was $512 from the dealer, but only $62 from LKQ on ebay. It says it fits S-types from 2000 through 2003. So we saved a lot of money on the part – not to mention saving the labor. The dealer referred us to a local windshield replacement company, but luckily he was able to figure it out on his own.

I know this video was posted a while ago, but thank you . I was able to fix my existing mirror because of the detail of you video. This was the only video I could find with my actual type of mirror and I appreciate that he shows the back of the old broken one. My husband was able to fix it with a small piece of PVC pipe and it works fine. Sorry can't explain how he did it he just looked at it and did it.

This is great, although I did figure it out, I never did post a video! oh well… But actually I kinda like not seeing laser beam red-neck pick up trucks that sit on yer ass up here in the mirror so I leave it hanging just like a hillbilly! lol

Thanks for posting this. It really helps, as my original mirror is broken same as yours was. Unfortunately, couldn't find one on eBay is inexpensive as yours, but I did find a replacement and, thanks to your video, now have the info I need to finish the job.
UPDATE: Success!! Thanks again!

Thanks for that piece of information… I have the Jaguar service manual which for all intents and purposes is pretty useless. My mirror dropped off today and I thought RATS I will probably have to take half of the car apart to fix… after watching your video… done in 60 seconds… thanks.. so much easier than replacing the plugs and coils which I did recently…..

Jim figured out how to remove and replace the rearview mirror on my S-type.  Finally!  Woohoo!  He made a video since he couldn't find one on how to do it.  Saved us over $750
