This mod won’t do any good, on the contrary. All tremolos have to have some
kind of flat surface to provide a stable “0” position where a very small
change in string tension (tuning, bending, vibrato) won’t affect the
tremolo position resulting in detuning the other strings. Every change in a
string tension (think tuning) will induce a new position of the tremolo as
the spring on the back doesn’t automaticly compensate the variation in the
string’s tension. When you hear “knife edge” tremolo, think the back of the
knife blade (it has 2 edges and a flat surface between them), not the more
or less cutting edge (what you tried to do here). It has to be like a
seesaw on the back of the knife blade not like a seesaw on the cutting edge.
