David Warner says:

I had this same problem as the cable slipped out of the latch on the passenger side. (USA Model) I ended up squeezing the latch where the cable comes through so that it cannot pop out. Thanks loads for the video.

Thanks brother…. I'm a young jaguar owner and don't have old money to fix this problem at the dealership……standing ovation and all hats come off for you.

Royal Alphys says:

Thanks! I got my hood open in about an hour for everything. I tried for a while to open it through the hole to the left and to the back of where you drilled because it looks like that's what it's for, but drilling is the only way.

Rossie Carroll says:

Thanks for the vid, I used a hole saw to make a larger hole, and the cable had just fell out so I clamped the ends where the cable goes with a pair of pliers. Saved my day 04/23/2017

Kenneth Wyatt says:

This was so easy!!!! Great information… I let my Jag sit for a month not wanting to try this… Thank you

Bjørn Eliassen says:

Great vid! How did you fix the latch so you don't have to pull the wheel off in the future?

Justin Hawes says:

Thanks for the video on the passenger's side. The driver's side can actually be accessed through the firewall, there's a grommet that pops out and then you can get to the latch with a long screwdriver.

ROCKINPOPPA66 says:

Thank you for posting this awesome video I've been turning wrenches for 35 years and never had to get a jaguar hood open with a broken cable, you saved me a ton of time!!!! just one tip I can add disconnect the battery before you do it because on the passenger side The positive battery cable is right above where you're going to be drilling and you don't want to short out, I used a step drillbit it worked perfect thanks again

Marcus Purnell says:
