Isuzu MU-X Suspension Lift Kit Installation – How to install a lift kit in your IFS 4×4

Isuzu MU-X Suspension Lift Kit Installation – How to install a lift kit in your IFS 4×4

Hey Guys and Gals!

In this video i show you exactly how to change the suspension setup in your IFS 4wd from the standard setup to a Heavy Duty off-road ready lift kit.

For my lift kit I chose Outback Armour pre-assembled front struts with rear heavy duty coils and shocks. The added strength and reliability from the larger bore shock absorbers means that I will be able to rely on my suspension setup to get me through the rough stuff and all the way home again!

In this video i show you how i installed the lift kit into my 2018 model Isuzu Mu-x. To complete the job i used assorted spanners, ratchets and sockets, 2 x car jacks, 2 x car jack stands, flat blade and phillips head screw driver and a few other tools.

The job can be quite easily carried out at home if you have the right tools and will take you between 2-4 hours for a complete lift kit depending on your experience.

The Outback Armour lift kit lifted the MU-X approximately 50mm all around on each corner.

enjoyed your video, very helpful. Only question I have is that I have always been told that any bushing bolt/nuts should not be fully tightened until the car is back on the ground on its wheels and you have moved the suspension through a few compression rebound strokes. i.e bounced it up and down a bit so the bolts are seated correctly in the bushes and don't get torn up shortly after fitting them

subscribing….. I have the same model and same color mux 2018 cheers…
more upgrade and ideas to come

cold gold kb says:

You should have not tightened the shocks completely while the car is raised,, weight should be full then shocks tightened up.. any smart mechanic would know this . bushes be worn n busted out bfr you know it !!!

Greetings Nick! Awesome upgrade. I have the same SUV (mu-X) but i have the base trim. Are you planning to do more upgrades in the future for your mu-X? I would love to watch how you do it. Cheers Mate!

Hi Nick, love your channel mate. Why Outback Armour suspension kit and not EFS or Dobinsons etc?

JGamer 350777747 says:

Maybe in real time, that job should take only 1 hour or less

Benny Banger says:

That's awesome news Nick – simple install and good quality aftermarket gear. Just wondering how is the ride like on bitumen after the lift kit was installed?
Looking forward to the rest of the build.
