Set the multimeter to ohms, then probe the thermostat terminals which should change when heated If the multimeter reads a low resistance value (near zero ohms), the thermostat is likely functioning correctly at room temperature.
If the multimeter reads “infinity” or a very high resistance, the thermostat or heating element might be faulty.
