This is our Infiniti G37 tutorial video on how to remove and install a side view mirror. The process has not changed in decades and is fairly easy. Don’t be afraid of this DIY project, anyone with a screwdriver can tackle this job.

The tools you will need are a socket wrench, 10mm socket, socket extension and a flat-head screwdriver. These are pretty common and affordable tools nothing too technical or difficult to use.

For this particular car, you do have to remove the door panel. It may seem like a difficult task but there are only 2 bolts that secure the panel to the door. The panel is self is clipped onto the door, just pop it off and up. You don’t have to remove anything else from the door panel. You don’t want to give yourself more work, just let it hang.

All mirrors are held on by the standard 3-4 nuts and the electrical connector. Simply remove these and the mirror should come off with ease. Be sure to apply the rubber base piece to your new mirror. The majority of our mirrors come with a rubber base or foam lining. The rubber bases are usually detachable form your OE (original equipment) mirror and can be reused. The rubber piece serves as a buffer between the door for damages and noise cancellation.

Simply insert the mirror into place and connect the electrical wire and screw on the bolts. Congratulations, your newly painted side view mirror is not mounted on your car. Before you place the door panel back on. Make sure that the mirrors electrical components are working fine. For this particular mirror, check the power adjustment. Once your satisfied, install the door panel and your done. We told you it was easy!
