I use WD-40 or penelube, I've never had any issues when starting or any electrical problems.
I've smeared dielectric grease all over the post and clamp in a thin layer for all my cars. Never ever had issues.
Get it snug, wiggle a little to get good contact metal to metal and boom you're good
I tell the guys in my squad at work this all the time. Just because the grease says that current can flow through it, does not mean that it is a conductor.
