My 2006 Sonata had a foam padding around the section with the 3 bolts and my aftermarket mirror did not come with it. I’m assuming it may be for insulation against weather and road noise? Either way, worth noting that you might as well pull that foam off the old mirror and put it on your new one (assuming it’s still attached to the car)

I love this video! It’s very well filmed, and easy to follow. My mirrors when the passenger side mirror broke didn’t have any symbols that would let me know if it was heated or not. Looking at the number of wires let me know that since there’s 5 it is a powered and heated mirror. Thank you!
