This method did not work, and I ended up with a now chipped and damaged plastic casing of the key fob, both externally where it chipped on the edges and internally around the supposed gap referenced in the video. I ended up using my fingernails and sliding them between the vertical metal trim piece on the fob, after removing the valet key. I had to gently rock and slide my fingernails up and down the crack between the metal trim and the brown plastic until it eventually gave way.
It is much easier to pry it open with the tip of a butter knife. Insert it 1mm at the top of the chrome piece on the bottom plastic side (the one with the H logo) and gently pry open. Don't forget to properly fit the rubber piece all around back in place.

Thank you, Thank you boss
Excellent video. Wish I had seen this one first. That's cool that you can use the key to separate the fob and remove the battery. Great job!
Your video is too blurry, i cant see where to put the key in to open it.
Thank you for posting this.
Thank you so much! Your video was very helpful 🙂 <3
Thanks….dealer we going to charge an absurd amount to do this
Thank you very much! My dealer wanted to charge my mother $17! If I met you in real life I would buy you a drink!
