This method did not work, and I ended up with a now chipped and damaged plastic casing of the key fob, both externally where it chipped on the edges and internally around the supposed gap referenced in the video. I ended up using my fingernails and sliding them between the vertical metal trim piece on the fob, after removing the valet key. I had to gently rock and slide my fingernails up and down the crack between the metal trim and the brown plastic until it eventually gave way.

Excellent video. Wish I had seen this one first. That's cool that you can use the key to separate the fob and remove the battery. Great job!

Your video is too blurry, i cant see where to put the key in to open it.

It is much easier to pry it open with the tip of a butter knife. Insert it 1mm at the top of the chrome piece on the bottom plastic side (the one with the H logo) and gently pry open. Don't forget to properly fit the rubber piece all around back in place.
