We bought a 2006 Hyundai Tucson with +80k miles ,back in 2010, had it until 2021. Got t-bone an it was totaled! We had over 220k miles on it ☹️ still ran like a champ. Having forced to buy a newer vehicle, I found a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe! So far it's Amazing and gets over 28mpg in town and when we have to go visit our daughters in south Boston we get over 45mpg on the highway. We luv it

Tim Areskog says:

Mitsubishi Australia was the first car maker who in the late 80's or early 90's publicly admitted that cars for the Australian market were made to last 7yrs or 350,000km as a maximum without suffering major item failure. That time/distance figure was then regarded as a "fare lifetime" based upon the average that a new car buyer would keep their vehicle. The average age of cars in Australia a few years ago was 17 years.

Now we see that German based manufacturers ( Mercedes, VW, Audi, Porsche) build cars based upon the legislation relating to annual RoadWorthy Inspections and Registration Costs in Germany where cars over 3 years of age become more expensive to keep and use depending on their ongoing age. Thus these brands tend to be made to only have a "guaranteed" minimum life of 3 years.
This is why many 2nd hand German Branded vehicles end up being exported from Germany as they reach the 3 years age mark.
The Japanese export their 2nd hand cars when they are 2 yrs of age due to the Legislation in Japan on age of cars.

Scotty seriously? You said in a video that Hyundai is better than Toyota and now you take it back, make up your mind.

VideoArchiveGuy says:

My Dad and stepmom both have Hyundai Elantras with no issues whatsoever; while not as good as a Toyota at the time they were purchased they were just over half the price of a comparable Toyota.

John Lee says:

My Toyota 2003 Tacoma, still running strong and like new after 170 thousand miles!

Zoaxe Mythale says:

We had a Hyundai terracan diesel with a crdi engine , it was the worst car we ever had , spent 10k euros on repairs because it kept having black metallic dust that clogged the injectors and and the common rail etc. And kept losing power and jerking .Hyundai refused to repair it on warranty and told us to pay 5k to replace all the diesel tubes etc and anything that carries diesel, from the gas tank to the injectors. All of that didn't matter because after one month it started doing the same and the car couldn't go beyond 60~70 km/h on a hill. Worst car ever, and since then we swore to never buy a Hyundai or kia ever again.

Guesman998 says:

The older hyundai elantras are just as reliable as a Honda Civic or a Toyota Camry
