I am just curious there is no check engine light on before replacing the Transmission. The sound that comes when you pedal on the gas is a sign though!

I can hear the piston slap probably should have pulled the whole motor

Great video. I would love to find a transmission for $200. Huge price difference for 1.8 liter and 2.0 liter transmission. 2 liter is $300. 1.8 liter is $2000 in a 2016. Why? No idea. I am jealous. Wish I had a 2 liter.

I am about to replace the transmission In my 2017 Elantra so this is very helpful thanks… 1 question though. EVERYWHERE I read says I have to reset my TCM after I put in the other transmission. Did you have to do that? If so, is there a way to do it without a scan tool?

Nick Jones says:

Did you have to put the car in Neutral or Park Be for your jacked it up in the air to get the flywheel bolts off?

Adam12SD says:

Unfortunately transmission are on back order for my girlfriends 2016 Elantra, but as soon as it gets here I’ll be tackling this myself. Thank you for the details video, it will be an IMMENSE help for me and I’m sure plenty of others. Apparently these transmissions don’t last too long.
