@Charles Delvalle Glad I can help. When I did this and it worked I had to
make a vid of what I did. Alot of people don’t have the money to spend on
high end suspenstion parts that may not solve the problem. P.S. I had some
round dome metal caps welded over the holes and sprayed white to clean up
the look. The muffler shop did the work and all together I spent $50.

Charles Delvalle says:

$50? did you do the cuts yourself? If so, what’d you use? A body shop
quoted me $300 to cut and cap the pair.

TheTexasHitmen says:

@rollarice They are nice and it doesn’t bounce around like alot of lowered
cars. I had some custom caps made to cover the holes and I put some flat
white over it to mask the holes I had to cut into it. All in all it turned
out looking the way I wanted. Unfortunately since the NF Sonata usually not
lowered. I found the problem and figured out a fix thrrough trial and
error. I hope me posting this will save anyone else who want to lower one
alot of hair pulling.

Charles Delvalle says:

Glad I didn’t do it yet! I go to the shop that did my suspension tomorrow,
and I’ll see if they can come up with a better price.

Charles Delvalle says:

hey man, im having similar problems with my 06 sonata. Installed Koni
adjustable shocks and eibach springs and getting the control arm hit. After
you cut the strut tower, are you able to handle all bumps, etc… without
any banging sounds? Also, you’re not hitting the frame at the bottom?

TheTexasHitmen says:

@Charles Delvalle Dude! they are ripping you off. I went to a local tire
shop that does exhaust and they charged me $20 to cut the holes and I came
back and had them caped for $50.

Charles Delvalle says:

Tex, that’s exactly what I wanted to hear. I really don’t feel like
dropping $300 on adjustable control arms + labor, especially since i’m not
sure that will add enough clearance to solve my problem.

TheTexasHitmen says:

@Charles Delvalle No hitting at all from the ball joints or the control
arms. I know people don’t want to go to this drastic way but it works.

rollarice says:

Sucks that you have to cut the strut tower, especially when it’s not too
low. How do you like the Gabriels?

TheTexasHitmen says:

@Charles Delvalle Cool.
