Place something behind the cone to hold it up a bit while the glue dries. Use some wadded up paper towels, or an old rag, etc.
quick question, how long do you need to hold the cone up for while its adhering to the surround? i know you said an hour but do you mean sit there and hold it for an hour or?? please let me know
Perfect video, i did same like you and it works great!!! I was a little bit afraid to remove the cone, but it was very easy after i watched your video. Now i ordered your repair kit and i hope it will work same like you promise. Thank you!!! Here in the UAE we don’t have a JL Audio dealer anymore and without you i had to throw my jl audio 12w7 away. You guys are amazing!!!! Greetings from the Hummer H2 Group Dubai!!

Yes. See our website for all the JL models. Thanks!
Do you sell kits to repair the jl audio 10w012 sub? I was told you can’t fix it with a DIY kit…
Sorry, these are not available.
do you sell the outter trim ring
Badical…
Thanks. Yes, the cone will move around a bit. this is normal since the foam is not in place to support the cone.
Hello great vid, I just ordered a refoam kit and I took the foam off my w7 my question is that the cone is a little wobbly is this normal or a issue ?
Awesome very good instructional
hands down best fix video out there. thank you
You can use Goo Gone to remove the foam and residue instead of excessive scraping. Once the Goo Gone soaks through the foam for a good amount of time, it comes off easily. I’ve done it on a w6v2
very nice work man!! 🙂
Хорошая работа! Like
