How to Add Power Steering to an Electric Hummer – (I know you're curious)

Its time to install Power Steering on the Hummer! HUGE Thanks to https://www.oshcut.com/ for helping me get my parts so fast. Power steering is important in any vehicle, but especially heavy duty vehicles. The heavier the truck the more assistance it needs for steering. We had power steering working on our Electric Hummer conversion previously, but it was loud. This new electric power steering motor will be MUCH quieter and MUCH more energy efficient. Our Hummer’s name is ‘Whisper’ and now it will be quiet enough to live up to that name.

You should have listed where you got the motor assist at.

SuperMarineaquarium says:

Don't want to put a damper on this amazing solution on the noise. However there is a miss that you might be unaware of. Have you considered that if turning the bushings inside of your new motor will be having undue stress placed on them that is why the gm group who produced the humvee used splines at the top of the shaft to provide movement in and out to remove noise from a messy moving joint that you cut the shaft on and and solidified to a firewall that was never supposed to be structural. Please take care as to not break the universal joint in the shaft or wear out the bearing material in the assist motor by either rubberizing the mount for the motor or adding in and out force reduction to the mount.

Charles Balliet says:

i gotta say the way you chose to connect that steering assist motor made the entire mounting process much harder and requiring modifying way more parts than were necessary. i would have kept the motor mounted horizontally and let the knuckles do the angle work. that said great idea on the controller mount that's both convent and practical and simple

delta0307 says:

will there be a durability test on Jerryrig Jr.? lol

Ethan Moore says:

Not totally convinced he's not a robot. Baby? Likely story.
