Anthony Pellegrini says:

Good Video. Awesome detail.

Guns Cars and Digits says:

Thanks for the walkthrough.

sudilos117 says:

As a newbie, I did learn a thing or two. Especially about magazine
scratching. Thanks for the vid

Dan Everett says:

You really should tell people that when you say “take out the screw with a
screwdriver” that is in a CAM not a SCREW….broke the tab off trying to
“unscrew” it. New one on the way.

sudilos117 says:

+Dan everett
He is correct cam for the mag release not screw

Sal Monella says:

Please note how dry his gun is. I can’t learn anything from him!

mercturd85 says:

Just wondering, why did you take the recoil spring out before removing the
slide?

404040c says:

@doctruptwn Yeah I haven the 70 series and thanks!!

Lookinformemarbles says:

1st off Great video! I really learn a lot from your vids! I have a
Springfield 1911 loaded and i want to polish the trigger! The wear on it
looks like crap i have the stainless so i would like to polish the trigger
to clean it up! But i am a little nervous lol your video was great i just
an not sure about the sear and disconector it went iin easy for you but it
was fast so i kinda did not see how the parts went! I think i might give it
a try! Thanks for your videos they are very informative!

doctruptwn says:

Bend the center leaf of the sear spring in slightly to adjust for the
creep. This will push the disconector in slightly and should remove your
creep. The sear willl follow the disconnector to a point. There does need
to be a small amount of creep or the disconnector wilnot reset. It’s a
balancing act. go slow and amake small adjustments.

doctruptwn says:

@404040c It will work for a Series 70 pattern pistol, On the Series 80
pattern there are 2 more parts to deal with, but the prooceeedure is the
same.

GunsGunsGuns says:

Thanks. One of the best videos on YouTube for trigger replacement on a 1911.

404040c says:

This should work with my Colt?

Blackbird18708 says:

im so glad that you showed how to put it back together haha i always have
trouble with that

08BurtonT6rider says:

Who did you go with / where did find your arched mainspring housing?
Looking at getting a RIA GI and I’m wanting to do a WWII replica with it.

chris conti says:

great job on that trigger!

doctruptwn says:

@marzthyme1 It can, Sometimes the trigger bows can be out of shape or rough
depending on the manufacturer.

MrLooseSkrews says:

So the trigger feels great. Almost no creep, breaks like a glass rod.
Question is, do I have a safe gun, or a John Dillinger…?

DarkBrotherhoof says:

How do you fit the trigger to the frame is what I wanted to know

damon323 says:

Excellent video, thanks!!

MrLooseSkrews says:

Okay Doc, got the sear spring adjusted to where the hammer will stay back
if I A. Rack the slide, or B. Thumb cock it with the grip safety full
depressed. However, if the grip safety is not fully depressed, I still have
hammer follow. Won’t get to the range for a while, so dry fire is all I
have to go by.

Marlene Friol says:

Does changing the Trigger with the same Trigger but new, affect the trigger
pull?

doctruptwn says:

That’s where the old, ” some fitting required” comes into play. You can use
a fine file to file the trigger to fit. You will want to make it just
narrow enough to go in and function without dragging. Go slow and you’ll be
fine.

doctruptwn says:

Depends on what trigger your Springer has, the GI models have the short
trigger so yes the “long” trigger is bigger. If it is a skeleton trigger
then no that is as big as they get.

doctruptwn says:

@gregmr7171 This is something that you can do yourself, I would encourage
you to whatch as many of the breakdown video’s on youtube as you can,
before you try a full teardown, which is part of routine maintenance. As
for voiding the warrenty, it should not efect it, however I can’t given you
any guarrentee of that. I can say that the warrenty center here in the US
has been very accomidating. I have sent one Brand New pistol, into them
with a note that “It just didn’t feel right”.

MrLooseSkrews says:

I got it. Didn’t realize it was notched and not threaded. That’s what I get
for not watching your other videos first. New trouble, the trigger doesn’t
fit. Rock island GI, and you probably already knew this since you
disassemble a 1911 in the time it takes a normal person to field strip a
Glock. In case this not common knowledge, the trigger you use in this video
is WAY too wide to pass through the frame. Im not comfortable filing that
much metal off if the sides of the trigger.

MrLooseSkrews says:

I have a similar problem. FINALLY got that Wilson Gold cup fitted to my
RIA, couldn’t have done it without you brother, but it has some creep. Once
the slack is picked up, it’s crisp, but the slack annoys me. The bow is the
same size as the GI trigger. Why would there be slack in the Gold Cup? Any
ideas?

Steven Peters says:

I’m trying to find a trigger that is longer that the trigger in my
Springfield 1911. Any idea if they make such a thing ?
