IloveSPIDERZ says:

What happens when you only replace one strut on the front left wheel of the
2003 Ford Windstar? We replaced the strut along with the spring because
the spring broke. Is it a big deal? (BTW, I am a huge fan of you! I’ve
been watching a lot of your videos lately and they are very informative!
All of my mechanical experience I have has came from working on hydraulic
and AC&R systems on an aircraft carrier (CVN-69). Thank you very much for
the info!)

Junaid Aamer says:

ok so i’m pretty sure i need new strut+shocks. When I do the bounce test, I
hear clunking noise from the right side. I took the tire off the inspect
it, and a round piece of rubber tubing cover thing came off the strut.

Alain Danielle Prchal says:

Hey Scotty. I am having an issue with my 03 Bmw 325i E46. When i drive over
bumps I can hear a clunking noise coming from the front end. The steering
wheel also vibrates at around 40 mph. Do you think the two problems are
related? Probable causes?

Theodore Rinehart says:

Quick strut is a much better replacement

Kevin Chan says:

Hmmm….
no torque specs? no mention of needing alignment…especially for McPherson
struts?

Elaina Lee says:

What happen when you put the strut mount bolts in the wrong place? My car
has a loud clunking noise (passenger side) when I turned, this happen after
I replaced my struts.

man1d2tran says:

@scottykilmer I agree with you on the rotting. Anything rubber after 10, 12
years rots, bushings, joints, muffler hangers.. but mechanics were trying
to get me to buy new strut mounts when it looked fine on mine, just faint
surface cracks like you might see on tires 5+ years old. Were they just
trying to scare me into spending more money? Mind you those cost as much as
the strut itself and IMHO was not worth it to double the cost even if it
were included in the labor? What do you think?

Scotty Kilmer says:

@tolucacr9 depends what’s worn out. If the mounts are broke, you have to
take the strut apart anyway, then check it for wear. It should be still
going up and down, if it moves like a kazoo, replace it

Jonathan alva says:

@scottykilmer should i replace my struts or just the struts mount?

eltrouble says:

Personally I prefer marking the strut mount and springs themselves to line
up with the front of the strut, makes it a lot easier during the install.
No need to twist the mounts to get the studs to line up on top.

cprguy2 says:

How do I know if I should replace strut mounts also? I’ve been considering
buying the whole pre-built kit that monroe sells.

dcfs2005 says:

Great videos as always, I have a 2000 Corolla, I hear like a thumping,
clacking noises when I go over bumps, but I hear it from the rear, do you
think it is the rear struts? It comes from the driver’s side. Also, what is
your opinion about quick struts? Raybestos, KYB or Monroe? Which one?
Thanks Mr. Scotty.

therealjharris says:

Dont forget to put this bolt back on *grunt*… lol

Jonathan Cuenca says:

Hi Scotty, I have a 1994 Volvo 940 four door car every time I hit a little
bump the front part of the car starts squeaking and it feels like im in a
lowrider cause the front part of the car goes up and down for every time
that I hit a bump. My dad might say to change the struts and the problem
would be solved? What do you believe it is?

gwar10 says:

@scottykilmer oh thats awesome,i live in houston as well.what shop do you
work at?

trunk516 says:

Do ya have to have the front end aligned after this?

Jonathan alva says:

i have a 91 Honda civic hatchback and my left rear struts make a weird
noise do you know whats wrong with it?

abramgiron says:

God Bless You Scotty Kilmer your a real blessing!!..

Scotty Kilmer says:

@trunk516 not if you put it back the same as it was. I normally don’t have
to. Scotty

Scotty Kilmer says:

you pay a lot more, a spring compressor can be had for 50 bucks.

Scotty Kilmer says:

@jresperanza on most cars now the assembly is welded and you can’t replace
any cartridge. I used to do that all the time, but they want to make more
money on parts now.

man1d2tran says:

@dgr8zod Ugh, I have a 96 Camry and I had to lower the two seats and
unbolted the two side upholstry pieces and then the top deck to expose the
strut screws. PITA!!! I was like ah screw it. Ugh.

Scotty Kilmer says:

@cprguy2 if they are cracked or sag, replace em, or buy a whole unit .

goku kush says:

lol sup bro oh trust bro youll get sweaty when you do this so better buy
some beers too ;lool

johnvwj says:
