Would this be the same on a Toyota as far as the sensor problem with a
speedometer the doesn’t move at all until the car reaches 60mph then it
works fine for speeds above that

The only trouble I seem to have with aftermarket parts on my 1993 BMW 525iA
is that they don’t last as long. Generally, you have to replace water pumps
every five years with good OEM ones. My aftermarket one only lasted about 3
years.

Armando Hernandez says:

thank you!!!!!!!!!!

goheat77 says:

people should clean the area first before removal

Robert Wood says:

Great video. My brother in law has a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 and wants to
install taller tires on the rear to improve gas mileage. He was told by the
tire shop that he would not have to calibrate his speedometer because his
computer could detect the difference through the wheel speed sensor and
automatically compensate for the change in height. Is that true or BS ?
Thanks for all the great videos.

Jammit Timmaj says:

Yes, please. Thank you.

@gsrhatch14 lol

How much does a new speed sensor cost? My car is having a similar problem.
Going to auto electrician on Wednesday.

Patrick H says:

If you have to have a whole new engine put in TWICE in your car. Due to
seizure im guessing, because you said it ran without any oil. Then the
owner seriously just needs to sell their car and buy a bicycle.

Lionheart638 says:

This looks so much easier than what was on my vehicle. I had the speed
sensor go out on my 96 Ford Taurus a year or so ago. It is about impossible
to get that thing where it’s located. I actually had to go up from under my
car to get the best position at it. Even so, I was only able to get the top
electrical portion off of mine as the bottom half corroded into the
transmission. At that point I was sick of toying with it that I just took
it into the shop. It was such a pain.

Melanie Dickie says:

Hi,my civic says im going 100,and im not then when i hit the brakes it
drops down to 0 but the needle is resting under the resting spot, when i
press the gas it goes back to 100 could this be the vss? Thanks, Melanie

4g63junkie says:

ive seen a few 92-2000 honda acura speed sensor plugs corroded and green
like that seems like a common problem

dps023 says:

My 95´ Civic have a same malfunction on the RPM gauge, but is running good.
Sometimes when hot, turns off. what do you think what can be?

Jack Davies says:

You can spray electrical contacts with WD40 (Water Displacement 40) to help
prevent corrosion.

xXllBatmanllXx says:

what would happen if u poured sand in that hole were u stuffed your rag?

yousef yousef says:

Hello eric? I had this funny problem in my car, were after accelerating the
rev stays high or goes to around 3000 rpm??? It happens when vehicle is in
stationary. I drive a hundai elentra. Any idea why that happens. Thanks

Glockenator says:

The transmission doesn’t rely on the speed sensor alone. There are other
things that tell them when to shift besides speed.
