When I tried to reinstall the cover, the new plug seals kept the front of the cover up. I used the 90* pick to help seat the new seals around the spark plug tubes.

got that hot air induction air cleaner set up i see..

AliasProductions LLC says:

Not sure if anyone else commented this but you forgot to mention to disconnect the neg battery terminal cable before starting this procedure. I'm sure you know how important this is in protecting the integrity of the electrical components in the car. Most novice enthusiast don't.

Seems like every Honda I've ever had leaks oil out of the valve cover, and after some 75K miles or so, every other seal in the engine, especially the head gasket. And I just had the timing belt, water pump and valve cover gaskets changed by a reputable, Honda certified mechanic not even 6 months ago, and it's leaking out of the damn corners again like it was before he changed it.
I'm just so done with these cars.

C E says:

My spark plug gaskets are baked in!!! How do I remove them???

cody geisser says:

Great video super helpful, only question I have is, do you need to drain your oil before doing this?

Teino Alarcon says:

My new Valve Cover Gasket would not stay on the valve cover. I would try and make it firm on the cover but there was a hump no matter what. Would this be a bad gasket?

javaTL says:

Before doing removing the valve cover, do you need to drain your oil?

Cody Beaver says:

You don’t explain what to do if the valve cover is cemented on completely stuck to the head

puuxexil says:

The valve bolt gaskets were a pain in the butt. The metal washer wouldn't separate from the rubber. I used side cutters to cut as much rubber out, and ended using a ball-joint separator to push them out. Putting the new ones in were a breeze.

Marshall Stewartn says:

I use the gasket sealer.

Marshall Stewartn says:

This car has an after market colder in take. stock vehicles may be more difficult because you have to remove the throttle body air Box.

Hello I truly appreciate your video and has given me the courage to try it out but i think i bite more than i could chew on this project. Anyway I have almost the same case as yours where a friend of mine asked me to help him with his valve covers gasket and inspection from the mechanic said he needed to change gasket and timing belt and water pump, well everything was going fine until the harmony balancer part. i was not able to break the nut and in the process happened to turn it clockwise instead of counter clockwise and so now wondering if it will line up at TDC. Also it had asked us to change both the coolant lines. Any ideas i am most appreciated. thank you

Anthony DeJesus says:

If your coil pack gaskets are not leaking I suggest you NOT try and remove the round seals because they can break and be impossible to remove…. and if you cant pick out all the gasket bits you'll need to buy a new valve cover.

Jack Jonson says:

Hi mate will this fit my honda civic 2001. Its a 1 4 ? Thanks. Also do u post to uk ?

the eabster says:

You don't recommend putting gasket sealer in the corners? At all four points were at humps over the timing belt and opposite side. it would be the inside Corners not outside? I recently changed my valve cover gasket and now I have a oil leak on the passenger side. I wish I would have seen this video before following somebody else's recommendations. I don't see what else could have caused it to leak.

Marco Lopez says:

how long are those valve cover bolts. I broke one of the long ones when i tighten it up

Kevin S. says:

Question: In the 1996-2000 Civic Valve Cover Gasket Video, you used a 1-1/4" socket to smack the spark plug seals in with a rubber mallet. In this video you pushed the spark plug seals in by hand. I have a 2005 Civic EX and I just did mine, pushed in by hand. My question is: Am I okay leaving them pushed in by hand or should I have used a socket and rubber mallet?

Oscar Lim says:

Hey guys, I had the same problem with the rubber gasket. What I did was I used some pliers, grabbed a part of the circle gasket and I twisted clockwise or anticlockwise so the gasket would turn and come out.

777theguitarman says:

I found oil inside 3 of my coil tubes…what does this mean? My civic has had no power recently when I try and accelerate

juan bermudez says:

Hey I hava a little puddle on two of my spark plugs holes would this fix the Problem ?

Mannyr 2424 says:
