Can someone help me with my prelude I have a question about it

Jordan Smith says:

Timing belt broke while driving. If there was head damage is there a way to
tell without pulling the head off? will the cam pulleys still turn if there
is head damage?

wblakesx says:

do a compression check. or pull valve cover, turn engine. if the valves
move freely as the engine turns they are probably ok.

locoarabrican says:

u have to lose the bolt before u take the timing belt off

oSrBo says:

You put the 10mm bolt back in the timing belt tensioner correct?? i think
we have our belt tensioned but im not sure need a run down on how to make
sure it tensioned all the way

Adam M says:

No You can do it with engine in the car just take off LH engine mount and
find right position of the engine. The problem will be last screw from the
plastic cover to remove it 🙂

iNordstroms says:

my h22a was a little different, where are the holes by the cams because i
dont see them?

Brandon Pobanz says:

does the engine have to be out to replace the timing belt and water pump??

holmesnmanny says:

Dude, why the hell are you turning the engine the wrong way ? You should be
turning it counterclockwise not clockwise.

dchambers94dc says:

I have a 93 prelude si h22a1 5 speed, it idles at 500 maybe or lower, when
I step on the gas, it sputters until I get to maybe 1200-1500rpm and its
fine it also has an idleing problem, Ill post a video tomorrow and see what
you can tell me.

Adam M says:

The pulley You mean?

Adam M says:

hmmm hard to say if valves are bent it may still turn but not so easy ,I
have doubt nothing happend

JOSE25241 says:

to figure out if your timing belt is tensioned right.. it must have a 90
degree flex [left hand side of the belt.. this is the long side] and also
on the [right hand side.. between the right cam and water pump] these two
point must have a 90 degree flex to make sure your belt is tight

Darron C says:

Not a good teacher unless hes deaf a student wouldnt learn jack and there
are several birds chirping in the motor

Somethinzerious7 says:

have a question my prelude seems to idle at 1000 when cold but once itss
warmed up idles at 1500…how come…and can this be fixed easily?

Adam M says:

Yea U right mate …wrong way, but how can I show people how to turn the
engine with the bolt that would come out quite easy, once the engine is in
the car then I can tight that bolt up. You didn’t think about it.

holmesnmanny says:

The tension is going to be off.

StrokerSi says:

Great video. I’m trying to use your video as a reference on how tight to
set these belts. My H23a1 had a horribly shrill whine due to the balancer
belt and/or timing belt being too tight. I’ve since moved to an H22a with a
Kaizenspeed tensioner and STILL have an outrageous whine, even with the
belts “loose,” (to my standards). In your video, your belts aaalmost seem
loose enough to slide off by hand, (the belt arches between the cam gears).
How does this engine sound while running? Thanks!

ZekeComa says:

no. the only thing is offers is more room. nothing more.

Adam M says:

ok for how long the car was sitting without driving ? first check spark
plugs, air filter, vacuum leak, throttle body -spry some carburetor cleaner
in, clean cold start valve(Idle control valve), see tps sensor, check
leads, then put in the petrol full bottle of injector cleaner 1 bottle for
15 lt of petrol even it says that it will go on 70-80 lt, drive the car for
2-3 days. Let Us know I think injectors or IDLE CONTROL VALVE dirty.

dchambers94dc says:

Im sorry, I meant h23a1…

lightemup18 says:

What is tight strip?

Adam M says:

The engine runs good, but see that tension slightly changes with the
rotation. The balancer belt is loose but I didn’t replace that one even if
it will brake shouldn’t cause problems. thanx everyone for comments good or
bed but that’s the way of sharing knowledge.

ZekeComa says:

Very nice video. Too bad you didn’t show how to remove any of the seals,
nor the water pump.

Adam M says:

go ahead what is Your problem what engine You have etc..
