I'm putting an aftermarket rear sway bar on my CR-V, and after I got the original one off, I couldn't remember which way the opening on the bushings went. Thanks for mentioning that putting the opening at the back makes sense because they'll get less road gunk in them.

So you put the slit facing Towards the back of the car? Other installations show the slit facing the front of the vehicle. Are you sure about this?

Where did you find such a rusty Element? I live in NW Montana and they salt the roads for 4+ months a year and my 2006, luckily, is no where near that much of a rust bucket. You picked a hard one to work on.
