How To Remove and Replace or Upgrade a Honda Civic Steering Wheel

Quickie video demonstrating how to properly remove and replace or upgrade the steering wheel on a 7th generation Honda Civic or 2nd generation Acura 1.7 EL. This procedure is the same for the coupe and sedan and is also applicable to many other Honda models.

It is imperative that you allow the SRS system to discharge for at least 15 minutes prior to working on the vehicle’s air bag systems.

This video is for demonstration purposes only and I assume no responsibility to damages and injuries that could arise from working on the SRS system. You’ve been warned!

The steering wheel on my 7th generation Honda Civic is quite bland looking. On a recent trip to an auto wrecker I was fortunate enough to come across a leather wrapped OEM 2nd gen Acura 1.7 EL steering wheel that would be a PERFECT fit in my 7th gen civic. For $15.00 I was able to get a steering wheel that not only felt great in my hands but also looked a lot better than the stock Civic steering wheel.

Thanks for the vid I have a 1st gen civic hybrid (based off of 7th gen) and I’ve always hated the feel of the stock wheel. Good to know I don’t need to buy a new airbag lol.

Best video I’ve seen on YouTube. My odyssey has a similar style steering wheel like yours. It’s a 03 Odyssey but the 02-04 odyssey have the same wheel

Pierced,
I've never seen such a shape in SRS Panel; did not make any reference about that. Cluster on White looks Fine. How about rear sway bar ? How about using 2002-2004 CRV rear Brake combined Disc/Drum Rotors ? Would It be possible to use whole CRV System using 4 Lug Civic Bearing Hub ? Dust/Splash plate is mandatory for hosting Shoes for e-Brake.
Best Regards from Mexico City.
