Hi thx for the help. I did find the problem…. it was a broken brown wire
in the rear door flex boot. There was another wire that was cracked in two
spots too that I repaired while I was in there. Remove the rubber boot from
the A pillar and there is a plug. Unplug it for easier access to the broken
wires. 🙂

Thanks for posting this – very helpful video. The rear window of my ’04
Civic will not roll up (though it seems to roll down just fine). Any ideas
as to what it might be?

1A Auto Parts says:

Pretty much happens across the board on many vehicles. The cable could be
jammed. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

“Drvr rear back door switch rolls down window only, driver switch does not
work left rear up / down but works all 3 other windows fine.” This is
exactly what happened to me NigelM18. Did you ever find a solution?

bashi786 says:

Excellent video. I have exactly the same car. My rear driver-side window is
all the way up. It doesn’t move up or down at all from either the switch
directly on the door or the driver’s door switch. Also, the 2 front windows
vibrate going up n down. They don’t seem to be completely firm in place and
actually wiggle when I move it with my hand. I know I’m asking a lot but
any ideas what it could be/what I should do?

I have a 2001 Civic EX 4 door that is doing this exact same thing you are
talking about. The motor sounds like it is trying fut there is just
crunching noise. Do I have to replace the motor and the rail or one or the
other? Thanks for the video!

Marcos Lazzaro says:

Thank you friend. His videos have been extremely helpful. Honda Civic
owners Brazil thank you.

Very helpful video, thank you!

BKL8008 says:

Great vid’s on several makes. Do you know if Ford Explorers with 4 doors
have the same power window motors in the back as in the front?

noahhprice says:

This video was great. Motor was fine, just disconnected all power,
reconnected and it worked perfectly. Thanks again.

1A Auto Parts says:

The issue could be that the motor has finally quit on the regulator.

1A Auto Parts says:

Thank you for viewing out video on the rear power window regulator for the
2001-2005 civic. The Explorer has separate motors for the front of the
vehicle as well as the rear.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to test the power going to the rear window to see if the motor
has power to it. On the front windows take the door panel off to see if
there’s a way to tighten the windows on the bracket, you could also spray
the weatherstrip around the window with silicone spray to help speed it up.
you can find it at you local auto parts store. Hope this helps you out.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to take the weatherstripping out so that it gives you more
room to slide the glass in the top of the door.Hope this helps you out.

You’re welcome. Have a great day.

1A Auto Parts says:

There could be a stripped gear somewhere or just a weak motor that’s
preventing it from going up.

Thank you for all the wonderful videos…I replaced my front bumper,
replaced my window motor and replaced a drum brake with the aid of your
videos.

prorescuer1 says:

power window regulator? right it goes down not up and checked all fuses in

prorescuer1 says:

Great Videos Thumbs Up ! i have an 05 honda civic lx window goes down but
not up is this a problem common with the usa assembled here? correct me if
wrong

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to test the rear switch to see if has power going to and from
it.

Jane Marsh says:

I have a 97 civic with a busted out window. The only problem i am having is
putting the new glass in the door. It seems just about impossible to get it
in both sides of the rubber. Is there a trick?

Domino_Dancing says:

Cool, thanks for posting! Too bad I watched it *after* completely
disassembling the door. LOL Is it common for these regulators/motors to
fail? If so, how? I’m guessing that the cable is jammed up inside the motor
assembly?

NigelM18 says:

Good vid, got 05 civic, car symptoms before disassem, Drvr rear back door
switch rolls down window only, driver switch does not work left rear up /
down but works all 3 other windows fine. Tested regulator direct it works
up and down. Pulled just front switch, connected pin 18to17 + 19to8 nothing
happens but if I remove rear switch and connect 2to5 + 3to4 window rolls
up, not down. if I leave back window pinned, connect front switch, window
rolls up by itself. Put rear switch on nothing happens?
