Brian Lynch says:

Hi Brian, great job! It really helped me eliminate all the digging on a similar problem on a 1991 accord!!!

perry jones says:

I have a 91 Accord that surges..why? The idle air control valve vibrates loose and I periodically have to tighten it to the correct idle.

KangoKid Kidd says:

Hi my radiator hose has a lump is my thermostat bad thanks

TheKevin11 says:

I know this is an older video and I am not sure if you ever actually resolved the issue, but I would definitely check the valve lash. Back off the rockers and re'run the valves to the proper spec.

viyau says:

This is what am going through right now. 2000 Acura TL. The car is in the shop for other work and it had this issue as well now the shop can’t seem to fix it. Is the car a done deal ??

Greg Martin says:

#WatchTheWholeVideoBefore, i commentThanksManThank you

Greg Martin says:

You should’ve let us hear it run before when it was surging
Mine is running up and down Sergeant between 2000 RPMs and 3000 RPMs

Magnus Thor Vikingsson says:

Great Video

Norman John says:

Ya might have a bad head gasket.

RusH N RelaX says:

My 97 Avalon was reving to 15-2000rpms steady for 10-15mins then drop to 1000rpms but my car at operating temperature rpms should be line below 1000rpms I couldn't figure what it was but 1 day decided to fix filler neck for gas tank the pipe had a hole or 2 so I took pipe off and seal it all up etc put it on wow besides the random revs the gas pedal was stiffer a huge difference in engine response when accelerating just never know with cars now I just go through with fine tooth comb and fix even the dumbest problem with a car lol

benigno venturina says:

What's the problem if the coolant and power steering fluid mix together can somebody tell me thanks

Eidetic Goone says:

If you wonder why the vacuum leak down stops at high vacuum, at 10:57 you can see the test hose pinch near its connected to the hand vacuum pump. Could that be the reason?

AndrewStovall5 says:

FINALLY! I have the same car but a 2005 and am having the SAME problem!
Edit: …..so what was wrong with it?! Wtf man

Tony Nameless says:

Its the thing on the right. Similar looking cap.
I went to a mechanic, he opened it up, twisted it once and said "$50"
Problem never came back.
That bastard charged me $50 for twisting screw driver ?

Mike Sokolow says:

Idle air control valve , on a lot of throttle body engines, remove, clean and lube, cures bad idle, cutting off a lot of times. If not , they are cheap.

Stan Coolidge says:

My 89 civic did the same thing. Found the coolant temp sensor had one wire was broken. Fixed wire now the car runs and idles good.

JIGA BACHI says:

I hate 90's, early 2000's EFI Systems. They were not yet completely out of The Woods when it came to sensors and funky valves.

Madjwills says:

My 98 accord started doing this after I replaced the valve cover gaskets

Josh Palmer says:

Need help when am driving wanna stall out or cut out and have poor acceleration what would the fix be would it be iacv 91 Honda Accord ex

Willis G says:

I’ve had the same similar idle problem , I’ve drove my car through it for a year and it gets me from point A to point B like any other car , that being said I’m a happy owner .

Creature Of Habit says:

Thank you for the knowledge. Started to go buy an alternator. Thankfully you and the greatness of YouTube has done me a good solid once again.

Button B says:

Let me get this straight so I dont waste anymore of my valued time. This cat does all of these diagnostic test and seems to distant himself from the solution. What is the actual solution? Im afraid I have the same issue and dont wanna be a fool and play guesi2ng games.
