The golf was branded The rabbit in the US for some time.
Hey Scotty, I recently purchased a Used 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback Ex model with 131,000 miles on it. It had 1 owner and she had a long commute and her job required a lot of driving. Most of the miles were highway miles. Test drove the car, it basically drove brand new. I bought it right there they wanted $16,500 for it plus tax of course. I haven't had any problems at all. I've sinced then changed the oil, Transmission fluid/ and filter, cabin and air filter, new tires and put some exterior and interior mods in. Baby looks brand new. Its the first honda and car I've had to myself and it impresses me everday. The only thing I don't like was I was getting better gas milage with 87, but it calls for 89 and I'm getting less with 89 in. I'll avg around 30-35mpg rather than 35-41 with 87.
I have a 2016 Civic turbo model and it had air conditioning problem at 70.000 km, just like you said. Luckly, it was 2 months before the warranty ended.

You just covered the most poorly built quality vehicles of 2021. The Honda and VW are absolutely crap now days, they were once a high performance above average quality vehicles back in the 90s. Toyota consistently built high quality vehicles for the last 4 decades and getting better year over year.

ive had both a Civic and a Golf. i prefer the Golf, but the Civic is definitely cheaper to work on.
Like Honda Fans like saying, VTEC KICK IN YO, this is a joke phrase, it means how Honda and Golf share its energy

I've had a new Civic hatchback, I have had 2 new Golfs. Hands down I will only ever drive a Golf HB. Love them. No issues- but I only buy them new and take care of them. Drove my last one for 20 years. My 2017 has Audi fit and finish. New Civics can't compete with interior design or fit and finish. The Golf is VW's baby. They have improved it every generation for the past 45 years. Not many car makers have models they have been making that long, and have kept them looking like the original. A new Civic looks nothing like the 1st one, and a Golf looks like a MK1, but evolved. I wouldn't buy a used Golf. Most people don't take care of them…
