Sweet gonna have to do this while I drain my coolant

Turbo231 says:

Possible…have to do some trouble shooting.

joecanada55 says:

My sons wipers wont turn off. Think this could be the problem?

Turbo231 says:

Sounds like a gear or loose bolt/nut combo. It could be the motor, but I’d remove the cowl (black trim under the windshield) and check out the mechanism there…sounds like something stripped out. If that seems to be ok, then I’d swap the motor. This video deals with wipers that don’t do anything (no noise or anything) because of a fault in the circuit board.

GCUE BEATS says:

Good video, I have a 98 Yukon. Just bought a new wiper motor b/c when i would switch on the wipers it makes a noise but wouldn’t move. Do u think its the board or motor?

This works great. I had what looked like an after market board (NAPA on it) and this fixed it

Turbo231 says:

Its dirtier in the prairies then other places.

U2wild says:

Ever heard of steamcleaning??? Damn !!!!!!!!!!!

U2wild says:

It a good idea to put a thin bead of silicone on the inside groove around the edge of the cover when reinstalling the module. This is to obviously keep out moisture and shorting the module. This advice is per GM recall procedure guidelines.

Bammerhunter says:

THANK YOU SO MUCH

AKAMOUNDS says:

Hey Turbo, my mechanic wanted $170 bucks to replace my wiper motor on a 1988 Blazer S-10. I was able to fix the wiper module myself after watching your video. I did have to borrow a soldering gun and a little socket wrench from my neighbor. If you are ever around Travis AFB, I will buy you dinner. Angela

Turbo231 says:

GM did for various model years, however a lot of them have expired. You’d have to check your dealer. Honestly, I’d rather do this then deal with the hassle.

Thomas Hilborn says:

Awesome tip/training! Thanks! I also wonderred about cleaning the contact points too. This has been a very aggravating problem and I’m surprised GM hasn’t had a recall on it.

350AmericanMuscle says:

I had this same issue and would always have to pop the hood and bang on the wiper motor to get it workin. So all i did was take a large zip tie and run it around the connector and zip tied it to the motor to create a tight connection and now i have wipers all the time. Guess this is pretty common in these trucks

Turbo231 says:

Same board…not sure of the problem though. Sure its a connector somewhere.

TractorWorld says:

Very helpful video! i have a 1998 silverado 4×4 and its versperatic one time it works other times they dont. Thanks! If you could, make a video on how to remove the headlights to polish them? Thanks,Colin

spelunkerd says:

Nice demo. That’s not a repair I would have ever thought of.

johnsont963 says:

i usually put a little rtv around the edge of the cover to help seal it up better then the factory seal.

Eric Lagace says:

Now you need new wipers! 🙂

ghtowagon says:

Forgot to add, Great video. I wish I would of fixed mine instead of buying new. Fix what you have! 🙂
