Hi, I want to use these struts on a little truck liftgate I have designed.
I was wondering if you could tell me about the lifting capacity and total
length of this thing.?
Thank you, this vídeo helped.
Nice and simple instructions. Thanks.
Thank You! I was able to replace the the lift support on my 2008 Acadia
based on your posting. Thanks again.
I followed your video and was able to change mine on my 2001 Suburban.
However, I have a question. When I removed the old ones, I used the
screwdriver and removed the old clips. I put on the ones just fine. Now,
do the new ones have the clip on them that when I push them on, the are
secure, or am I suppose to use the old clips and put them on. I know this
is stupid, but I just want to make sure I did this correctly. I am a women
and usually don’t do things to my own car.
has anyone ever removed tailgate, i have been looking for replacement not
strut removal
You’re welcome. Thank you for your order.

your site. Thanks for giving back to the community.

other one thats older. There 40 bucks a peice so any info would be great
before i spend the money thanks
Thank you guys…2008 chevy Tahoe LT…u guys save me 100’s of dollars…my
struts were malfunctioning..replace with new ones..only $78 dollars..easy
to do as video show…again….THANK YOU VERY MUCH…
We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows you this
particular repair. We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we
need to make this repair in the future.
Yes you should replace them in pairs.
Thank you so much for this video, you saved me over $80 in labor that the
dealership would have charged me to install therm. 2007 Suburban.
Worked like a charm! Thank you very much for the assistance.
thanks for this vid,it will help a lot,im going to check your store for 05
yukon
Great video…I do have a question. I have a 2007 Suburban with the power
lift. And after 5 years it will not go up or down. Motor wants to open it,
but it just re-latches. I suspect it is the struts…would you change out
the struts on my 2007 Suburban the same way?
You would need to replace them with new struts. We carry them with free
shipping on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
I just bought a couple of new struts for $84 and replaced them in about 7
minutes, Lord knows what the dealership would’ve charged me for the same
parts and labor. Great video!
Thanks! Job done in 5 mins. 🙂
such a lifesaver…………….continue to help all of us DIYr’s
You may want to check the power going to the actuator to see if there’s
power getting to it. If there isn’t check for a blown fuse or a break in
the wire somewhere. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day! 1aauto.com

i cracked the glass on my 97 replaced the hatch with a 98 suburban hatch it
closes but not aligned the passenger side sticks out a little bit … and
water leaks in now today i got to inspecting it and i noticed the body
hinge seems to be cracked i supposed that would be a job for the body
shop.. i wonder how much they’d charge
Thanks, I was just looking for directions to be sure the clips could be
pried on.
We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this particular
repair.
Does the same technique applies for a 05 Nissan pathfinder ??
Thanks for this! It was so easy and I am so glad I found this instead of
taking it to a shop and paying alot more!
Your 2005 Nissan Pathfinder may be a little different. They shouldn’t be to
hard to install though.
I am woman, hear me roar! i just replaced mine in my 2002 Suburban. What a
difference it makes. Thank you for your help. 🙂
At 1:23 I thought you were going to knock the broom out LOL! I like your
stepladder idea better from the other video. Thanks for making these.
I just completed this task on my 2001 Suburban. Unfortunately I got the
verbal instructions from another site instead of seeing your video. All in
all, I got the job done and it was easy. Your video makes it easier to
replace the struts in the hatchback door by seeing. I used 2 neighbor kids
to hold the door open while i popped both off. The whole job took 5 minutes
at most to replace the old one with the new ones. Thanks for your video.
is this the same idea for a Honda Odyssey? ….they look the same. thank
you, you’re the bomb bro
i have a 2004 excursion, the lift gate struts are shot. is there some sort
of a spring i can add instead of buying new struts?
Just changed the lifts on my 95′ Suburban. It was a lot easier then I
thought it would be. Even could hold the hatch up with my head since I’m
tall lol. Thanks for the vid.
LOVE IT!!
Because the struts are motorized, I think there might be a different way to
replace them. I would possibly try some online forums to find out the
method of replacing them.
Same problem on my 02 Yukon XL. Do you happen to have instructions on how
to remove the rear hatch interior panel? Without breaking off the clips and
tabs that hold it in place?
