Watch a full tutorial as a 2001 GMC Sierra / Chevy Silverado will have a Sony XAV-AX1000 Double Din Touch Screen Radio installed. In this video, we are showing how to convert the factory 1.5 Size Din dash bezel into a double din dash bezel to accommodate a touch screen in the factory location.
This video applies to GMC / Chevrolet (Chevy) Sierra / Silverado / Suburban / Yukon / Tahoe / Avalanche models for years 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002. This video also includes dash trim and stereo removal, wiring, installation, and testing.

Did you have to trim out the rear the dash mounting or does this deck fit right in?
Didn't you have to trim the plastic and cut the brace out of dash to fit double din? If so you did not show that step.
I love my single din , but this was so easy I might be tempted. For some reason if you have a touch screen people dont think your car is a beater anymore.
Can you use the wiring harness from the aftermarket stereo you already had in?
what is the difference between the 03 bezel and an aftermarket bezel? I have an 01 silverado and I have access to an 03.
Did you have to change or cut the radio basket
