@vipermech Yeah your right on the drilling it out deal, the problem is,, I
don’t have a drill press, but if you do have one, it makes alot better fit,
less mess, and much easier welding for sure.. Thanks for the input, thats
what it’s all about, helping each other get er done. Pete

D.I.Y. yeah

vbl4lif3 says:

OK……why would you use a Plasma cutter for making lil holes?……Drill
….Drill Press….You have either?…….Especially when plasma tips are
more spendy……and they cost alot more than what your saying……

Jeff Wiebe says:

Your handy with the plazma no doubt about it. Another way is if you have a
tig welder use a hole saw in the drill press to cut the holes then tig the
sleeves in. No grinding needed. Not criticizing, just another way to do it.

swrnc says:

@vbl4lif3 I use a plasma cutter for a job like this, because it’s fater and
less EXPENSIVE… Drill Press? Drill? whats that? If you watch the whole
story, you will see making a precise hole doesn’t matter in a situation
like this, since right after I plasma cut a hole, I immediatly put a 1/2
tubing sleeve in the square stock for streagnth and support. So in this
case—why would I want to use a drill or drill press??????
