Pale Male says:

Our kids will be unable to cheaply repair and run older, high mileage EV cars like we did on our first ICE cars.

Cracc 216 says:

Who's the girl in the beginning LAWDDD

AmpliFeX says:

I'll say it over and over: Electric cars are trash.

phill downes says:

700 to do that / i would be well happy to do that for 200. its not an hours work…. the brass fitting is around 2 dollars or 2 pound in English money a tap if you had to buy new 10 dollars.. hardest part is getting the car up in the air.. once i done this i would then make a guard to go in front of that hose, its dead simple to make a strong steel plate to go in and protect the part…… to say that needs a new battery is taking the piss……. another case of Tesla having fitters not mechanics/engineers…. why people in the usa let a company say you cant repair your own stuff is incredible and gullible. you either own it or you dont.

Austin Cochran says:

The right to repair anything mechanical including farm equipment! And if they don't want to give access to the information or parts at a reasonable price then they are saying that you don't truly own the machine!

delmartian2 says:

Someone should market an aftermarket shield to protect the vulnerable area of those Teslas.

James Kirk says:

If they gave credit for the good battery cells when you had to replace the battery pack, the cost would be much less. They expect to replace the entire battery and keep the original battery, which does have value. There should be credit for it.

matt says:

I Feel like:
-Innovation like this takes a long time to progress in the field. Gas mechanics currently have a centaury of experience available to them including online at their fingertips.
-Ford is over 100 years old
-Tesla is only a baby at 19 years old. It's going to take a long while before mechanics are familiar and comfortable with electric vehicles to perform these 'Jerry Rigg' fixes.
-Most of the time people are scared to perform fixes like this with new technology so they just go for a swap out because its the safest / easiest fix that keeps the company's liability protected if something goes wrong later down the track.

Joe Long says:

Nice fix. Personally I would use a pvc or poly nipple. On the odd chance this happened again I'd want the nipple to break before it could break the coolant unit. Lol my home water filter has a flush system nipple break and considered using a brass one then thought welk I'd rather replace the nipple than the unit

Raymond Jefferson says:

Open a shop in Chicago. I got two cars needing conversion.

Tedderman johns says:

More proof Elon is a conman.

TechFollower says:

This Man going to be homeless in future if he keeps spending money on fixing his car

Wiratorn R. says:

TESLA has just debut in my country and offer Model 3 and Y at great price. Cars will come from Chinese factory. I was about to go get one until I watch your video. In my warm climate all those plastics will be broken over times. Without repairability that s a high risk.
