Lifter Release Trick Collapsed Lifter AFM DOD GM Chevrolet Lifter Noise

Lifter Release Trick Collapsed Lifter AFM DOD GM Chevrolet Lifter Noise

Chevrolet lifter noise from Collapsed AFM DOD lifter. This release trick will save you Lots of money. Fix that pesky lifter tick with this technique I have done it on many vehicles for the last 2+years. This might appear to be a temporary fix but I assure you it is typically a long term solution.

Share this with all your GM V8 friends and if you don’t have this Issue yet or still have warranty get yourself the Range device https://amzn.to/2REouzc Note: (This is NOT a Tuner!) just prevents vehicle from entering 4cyl mode and a much cheaper more permanent option is to use www.lt1swap.com and I highly recommend the permanent option.

It is rare for me to leave comments but in this case I feel I should. Not only did it work but the part that blew me a way was how fast he got it out to me. I was concerned that the truck would be stuck blocking my bay. i was on the fence about buying his tool and I even thought about making my own but if you don't have a LS torn down to use to mock up the tool you really can't get the angle right plus for the cost not worth the time to make. Awesome job to come up with this trick and to supply us the tools to do it.

My 08 Suburban has this same problem. I'm sure I can do the mod and everything but how important is the tune? How long will it run stable before the tune is unavoidable?

Badi Alotaibi says:

Hi i have the same noise first code p303 not show after i change sparks put still ticking with NO CODE what the issue<

Dancindude says:

Curious, you can fix this with this method, but if its deformed and causing a ramp effect, isn't it just going to happen again?

EGGINFOOLS says:

You've earned a subscriber! Nice walk through. My Sierra is a 03 so I don't worry but I still love these videos

Ramiro Pinon says:

Will this process be the same on the Pontiac G8 6.0L?
Is it the same system?

Austin Carlson says:

Flat tappet still rotate still rock

ibrahim says:

I got your kit. Got the lifter to unstick. Spun engine by hand. The rocker arm started moving like normal for a little then goes back to not moving. Not sure what I'm doing wrong

Teron Bussell says:

Does this apply to a 2005 GMC ENVOY
CAUSE MY 5.3 MOTOR HAS A TAP AND ROUGH IDLE AND IS MISFIRING IN CYLINDER 4

JS84Smile D says:

If my lifter is already collapsed can I drive it to shop have DOD deleted then try the release without the vlom mod?

Johnny Johnston says:

So, bought your tool and plug, did the VLOM mod and sent my PCM off to LT1SWAP.com
Evderything went PERFECT, thank you so very much for the awesome video and detailed walk through, saved me tons of $$$ plus most shops have morons working in them I have found as a rule..lol
LT1swap semt PCM back super fast.
I am going to paypal you a cash tip for helping me out thanks again brother!

I have a 2015 Tahoe AFM/flex 114000 miles with ticking on the passenger side  with "No" codes or misfires. Am I a candidate for a stuck lifter? Do you make a delete kit yet for 2015 up? The oil sender filter is in a different location correct?

Smurfilygnome2 says:

I have an 07 escalade and it sounds just like this at the beginning of the video, it has the 6.2L, would it possibly have the same problem as this truck?

Frank Thomas says:

I just did this trick to fix the collapsed lifter on a 2010 tahoe hybrid. I didn`t do the mod on the VLOM though, I just replaced it with a new OEM VLOM. The trick worked great to fix the lifter, but the after the truck runs for a couple minutes the oil pressure guage drops to zero, but the engine doesnt sound like it lost oil pressure. no knocking or rattling runs smooth. I did not replace oil pressure switch, so I`m going to try that tomorrow. Luckily I took your advice and did away with the plastic piece on the back of the intake manifold.
EDIT: When I told the Chevrolet dealer I did this trick, They knew about it.
