How to Fix a Service Air Bag Message: Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado by Replacing Front Impact Sensors

In this video I replace the two front impact sensors for the SRS Air Bag system in my wife’s 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ 1500 5.3L V8. Fix an repair the Service Air Bag message for similar generation GM pickup trucks and SUVs like the Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Avalanche, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon, GMC Denali and Cadillac Escalade.

Perform all work at your own risk and follow all safety guidelines and instructions.

Thanks for watching!

Ed Rapp says:

Decent video but you should have done your homework first. You don’t have to take the front bumper cover off to get to the sensors. Just take off the splash shield underneath…

David Fite says:

On my 2008 I just removed the splash guard and got to them underneath

Easy fix, but a somewhat costly one for buying new impact sensors, others had single broken wire from an airbag connector under the passenger seat due to the seat being adjusted forwards and backwards multiple times with very little slack given for the wire loom. Im currently experiencing the same airbag light issue with my 2005 gmc sierra 1500 scsb, it currently has 189k miles, i checked the wiring under the passenger seat, all the wires look intact, so i too may be looking into replacing both impact sensors on my truck as well.

Lauren Brown says:

Someone told me I had to get a factory sensor because we replaced it but lights still on…I have an 05 Tahoe
