a lot of people don’t know that the sending unit socket is a 27mm it fits the exact same if not better

Very helpful. Very thoughtful of you to give a link to the "Oil Pressure Sensor Wire Cap Removal by Philip Dennison." video. Thanks

Kevin Smothers says:

Having an issue. I got the oil pressure sensor socket. Fits perfectly around the replacement, but I can't seem to get the socket to seat on the existing one so I can remove it. Seems to be too tight of a squeeze (it's the right size, just seems like the sensor is too close to the engine block or something), even though this is the recommended socket in just about every video. It's a thin-walled socket. I'm tempted to try and force the sensor back a little, but worried I might break shit. What are your thoughts?

Daryl Wade says:

After the third sensor failure, my local NAPA guy suggested Valvoline hot oil flush. Drain your oil, drop the old filter, add the hot oil flush and a new cheap filter, run the engine for ten minutes. It goes in clear, comes out like coffee. Drained the oil, installed new 5W40 full synthetic, and a NAPA gold filter, then five ounces of Spray Foam. My 2009 Chevy Silverado 5.3 has over 200,000 miles and the oil now seems to keep clean and new. The oil pressure now is stabile, on the top half of the gauge, doesn't drop below half way. Keeping the new sensor and screen for maybe in the future.

No Kizzy says:

How Deep was the filter in the hole ? I’m reaching my pick down to get the old one out but I’m just scrapping metal. Then I figured it didn’t have one so I put the new one down but the new one is all the way at the top of the hole where the bolt for the new oil pressure sensor screws in? Am I not reaching far enough down with my pick? Could you please explain the filter more ?

Megan Croft says:

Where is the filter located? He replaced the sensor already.

Jackson Cruz says:

Much more room if you take an extra 5 mins to unbolt the rear trans mount and jack the trans up by the tail. It rocks the engine away from the firewall by 2-3 inches.
