GM Truck OEM Off-Road Light Switch Install

GM Truck OEM Off-Road Light Switch Install

This video shows how to perform a factory installation of an off road light switch and wiring in a GM Truck(Sierra/Silverado). It also works for Canyon/Colorado trucks. Your BCM should have come from the factory pre-programmed But early models may not have.

Phillip Aung says:

I have '16 silverado 3500hd.
Do I use the switch with same part#?
Thanks in advance..

Tom Sams says:

How would I get rid of the long press? Don't want to blind oncoming drivers on the backroads.

Pat Bramble says:

Dude, nicely done

omar orozco says:

Excellent video, do you think that switch can work on 2014 sierra 1500wt?

Thomas Johnson says:

Would that switch work in a 2016 Silverado ltz. Great video by the way

Dustin Pearce says:

Please stop. Between you and Phil I can't stop. I mean, unless you have a way to wire the factory trailer brake in… I'm pretty sure it's impossible on a truck that's not equipped. in all seriousness, thank you for what you do!

Indy Chiver says:

The black and white wire are eliminated or do you re install those later and I missed it

Nick Patton says:

Will this work on a 2016 GMC Yukon SLT 4×4? Great video!

Eddie R says:

So what if I was going to get an off road bumper and replace the factory fog lamps with 2in led cubes. How would I wire those to the oem fog light switch in the truck?

Alex Domeniconi says:

Hey great video but apparently I’m an idiot. Just got the switch completely wired. Was hoping to test the switch before beginning the work under the hood. Any reason the dash light wouldn’t turn on even after pushing and holding? Does the relay and off road light need to be fully assembled to complete the circuit? All other switch functions seem to work.

Brandon Perez says:

@Tinkering Fox  Awesome video!
Do you know if this switch would work for a 2016 silverado 2500hd lt?

Austin Selvog says:

What ports on X1 and X5 would you use for a 2020 Sierra? I have the light switch on the dash without the task lights option, and want to put in a task light option switch to use if for light bars. However the task lights only work when the parking brake is on. Is there a way around this?

RandynNC says:

That is one PROFESSIONAL installation!! Thanks for sharing!

Jose Ramirez says:

Do you have a part number for the wiring harness?

Q123X says:

I installed the same way you did but I wont turn on, it looks the switch front the fog lights wont sent the signal…could you help me I will appreciate it thanks best kind regards

Mark Marcotte says:

Awesome video. "Almost" exactly what I've been looking for. You're obviously well educated in DC power. I'm adding LED fog lights to my 2018 Chevy Colorado ZR2. This model came without fog lights from the factory so there's no fog light option on my light switch. My low beams also stay on when my high beams come on. Would you know if there's a way to wire with the OEM light switch with dual auxiliary buttons.

Ron Knight says:

Is it possible to have a 2015 programmed for the switch? Or is that other video you have for 14&15s the only way?

Joseph Barron says:

Is this valid for the 2019 old body style 2500hd trucks also? I’m assuming yes but not sure. Thanks!!!

Ian Rosenbrook says:

Do you have a way I can get in contact with pgambo it won't let me message on Gmail trucks and I am a member

Kevin Williams says:

Great video! Do you have an install video for light bar behind the grill with the automatic shutters? 2017 LT

Chris K says:

Great job sirl

scotie100 says:

First off great video. I do have a question I have a gmc sierra sle 2016 and I want the ability to turn on the fog lights with the drl lights. I currently have the same headlight switch that you replaced with the new one. So would i f ollow these same step buying a new head light switch and add the two wires you did without the jumper wire for under the hood? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
