Keep voting for democrats!!! Gotta love NAFTA,and sorry i work at GM and worked at Toledo transmission the 6 speed FWD line has around 55 employees for the main assembly line and all the sub lines. It’s not many people getting laid off and most are very low seniority. The 6 speed rwd an 8 speed rwd as well as the 10 speed rwd is all still running an the 9 speed fwd lines also 99% of the time they offer the high seniority the opportunity to volunteer for the layoff an the lower will go to there areas. It’s a little insulting when someone on the outside wants to bad mouth stuff when he clearly don’t know the whole story. People aren’t buying small cars an cross overs an trucks an suvs are all that’s selling well an with so many vocal tree huggers begging for electric cars,well theyre getting what they want an will regret it when the government says no more replacing parts on internal combustion cars an have to buy electric cause it’s happening an when social programs stop subsidizing these electric vehicles they wont like em especially in colder climates areas. Shame how one crazy coast gets to dictate what a country does.
Why cant they just design around the scarce chips? Seems like you can still drive an old "analog" car and you wont kill yourself doing it.

Paul McCauliffe here in comments is right on. It is the stupid level of tech they put into cars and trucks today that drives up price, repair costs, and demands more tech understanding.
Let's pass a law that all US based car makers can make 1 model vehicle at 1969 level tech except for safety crumple zones and see how much they will cost. Only to be made 100% in USA.

Hi Scotty – I'm thinking about buying a 2022 kia Sorento or a 22 Sorento hybrid. However, While I like the MPG on the hybrid, I worry about the cost of replacing the battery pack if I need to. Some say they're good for 100k, others say 200k. Whats your best guess and what do you think of the Sorento in general? Should I forget the hybrid and just go with the 2.5 turbo?
