Yes that is a sender not a sensor, the sensor feeds the computer not the gauge. The sender is not even mentioned in the shop manual for some reason.

No Wrong. Temp sensor located near top hose on intake manifold. You just change temp sender for your gauge and by the way the single wire plug won’t fit that sensor. Good Video
