My 05 fx4 only has 4speeds, gets bout as good milage, and I paid cash for it neatly 4 years ago! It's got 271000 miles on it and I drove it nearly 100 miles today! Bought it to pull my 5500lb camper, but end up driving it everyday. It's just gas!! The make gas every day@ No payments, liability insurance!

I got a 2001 Excursion with a 7.3L diesel eco boost. It’s been a pretty reliable engine.
I have a 2013 F150 – Crew Cab XLT – with the 5.0 V8 and I get 20 – 21 mpg on highway. I average 15 mpg around town.
I have a new F350 with the 7.3L pushrod V8. I bought it because I like a big simple easy to work on V8.
I have a 2015 escape with a bad turbo. Been a Ford guy all my life but Ill never buy a newer Ford again. Ill still buy the old ones though.
I just worked on a couple F-250’s with the V10 motor. They both had over 300,000 miles with the original engine/transmission
My 2010 4.6 v8 3v triton. Its a solid beast. With a flowmaster exhaust sound beatiful.
I have a Question, does it make sense to put Non Ethanol gas in your vehicle, with the extra cost of Ethanol Free fuel? We have it in our area.
I love my Coyote engine! My daily driver is a Manual 6 Speed 2018 Mustang GT that I bought new and it's still a blast!

I have the exact same truck but mine is a 4×4. 2013 STX. LOL
You can't go wrong with any of them not plagued with forced induction, DOD, AFM, etc.
I don't know why Ford has gone so complicated… I want a car with a key
I have a 2014. Love it. I get 24 mpg on highway if following speed limits
My 2K Mercury Mountaineer V8 5.0 AWD just passed 300K last month.
The motor has been reliable and I'm not a fan of Ford. Specifically the 5.4L Triton from 1996 through 2001 with it's plastic intake manifold gasket issues.
I just stay away from Ford.

Love the early 10 speeds that just grenade the entire drive train. They will randomly try to shift really fast from 4 into 5 than into 6 too quickly and the trans will slam into 1st gear and grenade everything.
$12,500 is a steal for a truck like that in today's market.
