does the red wire go to the coil marked dist then the black wire to a
ground
Can someone please explain do I need to add a relay with ignitor one? I
know ignitor 2 and 3 required 12vs. I’ve heard the ignitor 1 can run off 6+
volts only. My truck has pink resitor wire reduces volts to 6 to prevent
points from burning. This video didn’t address that scenario just curious
it is not expensive… it is like many long lasting parts. silicon rad
hoses etc. its purchasing peace of mind and it lowers the long term cost.
if you dont want to spend the 75$ in one shot. by all means replace or
adjust points for the life of your ride.. instead of just riding.
I’m interested in this. But WHY do you have to charge so much?
one question: do i need an electronic ignition module for the pertronix’s
ignitor, or just hookit up to the primary of the coil?
Does Pertronix also sell similar kits for older Japanese models? I’m
interested in doing this to my 81 Honda Accord (1.8L). Obviously I’m not
worried about trying to improve performance (she’s hardly a good candidate!
LOL) but it would certainly be a step up, and nice to have a more
reliable/worry free replacement for my present setup.
the 65 style galaxies are the best look they ever had!
can i use this with the modern Ford v8 302 distributors to replace the
reluptor and pickup coil??? or this only works with the older distributor
that use points and condenser???
it replaces the points and depends on the coil if it’s a 70 era ford the
answer is yes
Careful: The magnet-laden black ring that fits over the distributor shaft
has a hexagonal (not sure how many sides for which distributor) inner form
that must be fitted precisely over the distributor shaft. The ring is round
outside, but NOT inside; you can’t easily see the inside shape. You have to
FEEL the fit. Seems like an obvious thing, It isn’t. not by a long shot.
The instructions may caution you somewhere, but if you miss this nearly
invisible aspect of this key part, you’re dead.
can you use the stock points coil with this?
I have a 1967 Lincoln Continental 462 V8. Would you tell me the part # to
order? Thanks!
I have the ignitor II in a 1965 galaxie using the stock coil.
This work great! No more filing points every few months. Mine’s still going
perfectly smooth as glass after 31/2 yrs/
I have 1281 in my 1970 Mustang Mach 1 since March of 2000. Trouble free and
very responsive at the pedal.
this product works, a good upgrade, starts easier, a little more ‘pep’ in
the old sbf step. I expect my mileage to improve….
put one in a 1969 F-600 with a 330 V-8,purrs like a kitten
