So now when I try to connect the negative battery the horn is going off?? I tried loosening the airbag bolts but nothing helped….any ideas?

talon55130 says:

Can the ribbon cables disconnect from the switches. My problem is the On/Off switch. The on cover cracked open and is the only problem. If I can just unplug the cable and just replace the switch only I'd be done in no time at all.

Larry Zim says:

Don't change trucks! It's the exact same one I own. Video's are great I have done many jobs I would not normally attempt. Thank's saved me big bucks.

Lost Ship says:

I feel like I own the truck from this video, considering how many of these things I've had to watch over the years.

Darrin Fry says:

Would this fit on a 96 ford ranger as well ?????

Eddie Maroon says:

btw the wires disconnect. =(

Ryan says:

What do you do with the steering wheel mounted cruise switches when you need to install an aftermarket steering wheel with no switches?

Marvin Moncevais says:

Lol to show you better we will be working from the passenger side and remember to repeat the same steps on the passenger side.

Steven Mendez says:

HELP!!! Now I put everything back together the horn or factory alarm won’t turn off once I connect the battery

Mike L says:

Can just the buttons be changed? The ribbon on my Lightning is fine, but the buttons have seen better days. I’d really rather not remove the wheel and ribbon if I don’t have to.

Sean Sapp says:

I did this and my coast button sounds the horn

Joe Wood says:

Great video. I have a 2000 Ranger XLT and I don’t have 8mm bolts. The bolts I have are completely smooth on the head..nothing to grab onto.

Matt b says:

Will this install be the same for a 2002 Mazda B3000?

outdoor life says:

If my truck does not have the buttons already can i buy this and install it or does it originally have to have it.

Tx Taquito says:

I followed this video and replaced it successfully BUT it doesnt seem to have any power. The old one didnt work and was falling apart but the lights inside the buttons would still come on when the headlights were turned on. New one nothing at all. No light and not even a blip on the cruize panel like the old one did. Ideas?

Augie M. says:

I have a 1997 ranger do you have a link to a video for that year, or know what the difference will be from this tutorial? Keep up the great videos!

Dylan Fernandez says:

My cruise is missing the ground wire will this cause it not to work

SouthernGamer314 says:

My horn seems to be wired in then same plug port as than one for the cruise control. how can this be??

Daniel Boone says:

I don't see a need to remove ignition switch or the covers ?

Ben Middleton says:

Thank you for the video! I did this last night on my 2000 Ranger and I got everything back together fine and when I reconnected the negative battery cable, the horn was sounding. It was later at night so I'm going to tackle it tomorrow. Thoughts on what I may have done wrong?

Luis El_menor says:

will this be the same for a 2000 explorer?

Chiseled Buff Daddy says:

This video saved me time and money — well done.

Ronster KC says:

Video looks great but I have a 97 ranger with switches that have the vinyl covering worn away. I've been able to get it to work but I'd really like to have new switches. Is the replacement procedure vastly different from the 98 – 2003 models captioned in your video? Thanks

Hey 1A Auto Parts

I really love your video i have to replace one of my Cruise Control Switches the right side one broking . Nevertheless i have a question that i think you might be able to answer for me .

i have a 1999 Mazda B3000 SE 4×4 that i have had since day one it has 190000 miles on it but it has a crack in the block. The crack is in the water tank area;… but its not leaking into the oil tank … the truck starts up fine but runs hot after a couple mins of driving.

My question to you is i been looking around for a motor at a couple places; i been told so many thing i am confused

1.) i seen one motor in a truck at a junk yard and it had the same motor as the truck you working on in the video doing Cruise Control Switches. how i can tell that is the same truck is because of the spider like break lines to the right of the body; but was i was told that … that motor wont work in my Mazda. (Can you confirm) that for me
2.) i also seen a guy with a Mazda same year as my 1999 but he had a 4.0 motor in his Mazda he stated that he brought it that way. i called Ford and even Mazda about this and Ford stated that they couldnt help me because its a Mazda and likewise for Mazda but they both said bring it in and they can help me with it …who to say my pocket ready for that but they both also stated that B3000 model is DISCONTINUED …. and that there not much in there system that they so with all this being said i am reaching out to you because i am so confused … either the Ford motor 3.0 or 4.0 works or it don't
