Way this truck dos not have coil suspension only shocks

michael anderson says:

With that upper control arm is the ball joint already pre greased

Jamie D says:

Per ford installation instructions the bolt heads are supposed to be facing toward each other. Why was that not done on this truck

Luis Sanchez says:

how do yu know whats the right height before you tightened the bolts of the control arm?

Greg Cordle says:

Great video. I had been noticing this kind of rattling noise the past few weeks so today I went and looked around while greasng the front end of my 2001 F150 4×4 flareside. That's when I noticed the left side rubber seal being broken and I could pull it off.. So looks like I'm going to need to replace the control arm and will just do both sides since it appears the rubber seals are almost all deteriorated. As well it seems not to cost but about $10 more each to replace the "entire control arm" instead of trying to just replace the upper bushing/seals.

Thanks for posting these videos. They're very informative and helpful. A couple of improvements to this one would be: 1) Show and explain the process of raising the suspension to ride height. It is mentioned, but not shown. 2) The torque spec for the lug nuts is different depending on the year and stud size from 1997-1999 with 12mm studs (100 Lb-Ft) , to 2000-2002 which use 14mm studs (150 Lb-Ft) .

I’m trying to install the new control arm, but the left side bushing (towards the front of the truck) will not slide back into the housing to be bolted up.

Daniel Mata says:

Love the videos, only complaint is the parts list and video don't match up with the socket sizes
