Thanks for the reply… They do turn but trying to lift them enough to pull them out is another thing. They seem soft and brittle. I’ll tackle them again this weekend. 🙂
You could try to put a little penetrating spray on them such as PB Blaster to see if it helps to loosen them up. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Removed all of the bolts then went to the Phillips screw clips on top. No matter what I did I couldn’t remove them. Any suggestions? I had to put everything back together, frustrated.
This video was definitely helpful except for when you have to go underneath the front fender to get to that last pesky little screw! In the video they’ve already cleared out the inner fender and other things that are in the way to get to that screw, but they don’t let you know that. That’s the only issue I have with it though. My other issue is with Ford making it so difficult to get to. Nonetheless, thank you for the video!
Seems the “secret screw” is the one thing several of these posts don’t reveal. I reached mine by turning wheel and un-doing inner fender well and attacked the hidden bolt with a 10mm on small socket.
Yes this video will apply to the 2003 Ford Focus, it should be the same procedure for both the sedan and hatchback models. If the lens is cracked, you would need to buy a new headlight assembly for it. We carry new ones on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
2 things: first is this video on headlight replacement for FORD FOCUS 2003 applicable to the sedan version instead of the hatchback. or is it different? second my headlight works, just the cover is cracked/broken and apparently the whole assembly needs to be replaced. is that true?
Thanks, this video helped me so much. It’s a bit complicated for the 2004 Focus, my other car is a (cheap) 2007 Dacia Logan mcv and i could replace the headlight bulbs without removing anything.
We’ll keep this in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future. Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
how about a headlight bulb replacement for a Sentra ’08 (Im guessing its pretty similar tho) that would be very appreciated.
Nice video
Thanks alot i didnt know there was a bolt underneath. Going to change mine soon. Hate using a jack lol
Yes it’s always a good idea to wear some rubber gloves, to help keep from touching the bulb lens. You don’t want to get the oil from your hands on them. Thanks for watching. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
those type with the retainer down behind the bumper really suck. have broken light assemblies before not nowing that bolt was there. an important point you didn’t mention was not to touch the lense of the headlight bulb. i was always told it would burn out quicker and from experience have seen it.
thank you
We are currently making other videos at this time but we will keep this in mind for one later on down the road.
