Great tutorial. I am looking to do something similar in a ram 3500. I need to change the lever to improve leg room. The bend in the lever causes it to hit my knee while in drive. Can the lever on the Ford be installed upside down, so that it curves in the other direction ( away from the knees ) ? Appreciate Any Insight You Can Provide.

I WAS WONDERING, WITH THE PROBLEM I'M GIVING WITH MY 1997 FORD EXPEDITION GEAR INDICATOR NOT MATCHING THE GEAR LETTER AND WHEN I THINK IT'S IN PARK, IT START TO MOVE, THEN I HAVE TO GIVE THE GEAR HANDLE A LITTLE WIGGLE AND…..THEN ITS IN PARK. IS THIS AN INDICATION OF A GEAR SELECTOR OR THE CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION?
THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO EVEN CARE ABOUT US..

I would like to see how you actually disconnected and connected the wiring clip without dropping the lower dash panel.  There is also a third retainer above the connector that makes pulling the wire through after disconnecting nearly impossible.  Dropping the panel  is not difficult and gives you a lot of room to work.
