I had the same issue- the problem is with some soldered connections that fail on the display board. That's why pushing on it works– it forces the connections together again for a little while. Eventually, though, it doesn't help anymore. You can re-solder them to fix the problem permanently. There is a good tutorial about it– search for "Ford Explorer Dim Radio" to find it. The same radio was common in many '06 & '07 Ford vehicles. I fixed my '07 Fusion by soldering those failed points and it's been fine for over a year now. Just do the research and take your time– it's not too difficult. Best of luck!
