Tommy Edwards says:

Wondering your thoughts on the Cam Phaser lock out option?

Stroker Ace says:

I have a 2006 F150 with 200,000 miles, I think the timing chain went out, is the truck worth fixing?

MINDCRIME says:

I just replaced cam phasers, guides, tensioners, timing chains, vct solenoids, oil pump, water pump. Got engine put back together, did the process for getting oil pressure up, reconnected crank sensor and it fired right up. Ran perfect for 20 min. Then all the sudden I lost oil pressure and have a check gauges warning. What happened?

Thomas H H says:

Pre internet days the only way to get this kind of info from a professional technician would be to do an apprenticeship. Progress is good. Sometimes.

You are the best!!

Brett Hiltbrand says:

So, I had the timing set replaced (OEM parts) and the engine ran great for a month. Then it started shuttering again. I unplugged the VCT solenoids and it runs quiet again. I'm so frustrated that I spent so much to have all the timing components replaced with OEM parts and to install a melling aftermarket pump. Do you think that the phasers broke again? Is it possible that the VCT solenoids are bad? Thanks.

ryan ikkala says:

When attempting to remove my power steering pump one bolt snapped off at the threads and the other two bolts are seized just as bad…soaked for 2 days with PB blaster…any tips to get this off? Cut bolt heads off?

common sense says:

5.4 3v is truly the worst engine ever made. Ford should be ashamed something this bad was used for so long. I am a spark plug and cam phaser victim.

bobby madison says:

I love my fuel too..
