Damian Frattasio says:

@ajpurc we charge 650.00 to install the kit which includes the kit,oil and
filter ,the kit alone is 235.00 plus shipping.

Damian Frattasio says:

Sorry but I dont think I have a shop in your area. I will check tomorrow to
be sure.

Damian Frattasio says:

I would suggest directing these shops to the factory service manual which
outlines in detail the procedure for oil pan replacement in an idi 7.3 94
and down, which does not remove engine just lift it up. making a mold for
the 7.3 idi would be too costly for the return, sorry. good luck,Damian

anthony galasso says:

i have this on my 94 f250 but its not a diesel….im trying to repair
rather then replace considering its going to cost me about $700 and sinking
money into a plow truck is no fun. do you have a kit for the 5.8?

pyrozach911 says:

will this work on a 7.3 IDI?

Damian Frattasio says:

DJatVRR you would bet wrong, this truck was done over two years ago, we
just saw it the other day for normal service and ball joints one side. all
systems are great, truck runs great, owner is happy. pulling 7.3 engines
require time, equipment, tools, space and certain knowlege and the chance of
disturbing things that would normally not be disturbed, causing more
expense. Most folks are just looking for a low cost way to repair it
themselves wouldnt you agree?

jberish says:

This is a proven solution! Damian did my truck with this kit almost 5 years
ago and it has proven to be flawless. Follow his instructions carefully and
I know you will be satisfied.

Damian Frattasio says:

@bobsethbroc polyurethane bed liner coatings have a tough time with the
heat cycles and fall short,i have seen this done and after a while they can
peel, but it is better than doing nothing but wont help after you’re leaking.

Damian Frattasio says:

I know a guy in Delaware and Maryland who says he will do pan saver installs

Damian Frattasio says:

No, the idi motors have oil pans which can be replaced in chassis, not
entirely easy but doable.

shisno314 says:

I just bought a 2000 7.3L and the dealer put a brand new OEM oil pan. Since
its brand new it obviously doesn’t have any rust but I still want to put
your fiberglass shell on. What would I have to do differently if anything
than what’s shown in your video?

ohhiillno says:

I’m gonna try this and tell acouple buddys

Damian Frattasio says:

the old 7.3 which you have does not have the same pam as a powerstroke, you
will have to change the pan but it can be done in chassis. the engine needs
to be lifted up,exhaust cross over removed, flywheel pan, pick up tube
dropped remove pan.

katbekr says:

My husband tried JB Weld and truck bed liner trying to seal this leak (of
course, it didn’t work). Is there a way to scrape that off so that he could
use one of your kits?

Damian Frattasio says:

@Maverick901 sorry, the 5.8 gas pan can be removed in chasis and replaced,we
dont have a kit for it.

Damian Frattasio says:

@C15CATDIESEL spoken like a guy whose been there! the cheapest oil pan ive
replaced was 1800.00, the most expensive was 4600.00. when you open
pandora’s box you dont know where it will end.

Damian Frattasio says:

@altdo69 this is the best part of an open internet, everybody has the right
to post his opinion, even the uninformed.

cliff richards says:

i have a 92 f350 with the older non turbo non powerstroke 7.3 diesel, does
it have the same oil pan as the newer 7.3? will this kit fit on my older
oil pan? or will i have to replace the pan and if so can i do a pan swap
with the engine still in the truck?

pyrozach911 says:

every shop i have gone to wants to pull the motor. i would do it myself but
i dont have the equipment or time to. would you consider making an idi
mold? if so i would be very interested as well as a few other people i know

Damian Frattasio says:

@jlandry861this repair isnt for everyone, just the folks who recognize a
better way when they see it, the point of this is to not pull the engine,if
you want to spend the money or take on the project of pulling the engine go
for it,if not ,call me.thanks for your input

jlandry861 says:

Thats the most half ass band aid fix ive ever seen. Do it once and be done
with it and change the pan…

bobsethbroc says:

How about spraying the pan with some sort of bed liner? Wouldn’t that
prevent rusting out?

STOPPUCKNOW says:

hey i finally watched your vid nice shell tek and vacuming the bottom was
differant, what is that an epoxy? I used 25 bucks worth of right stuff and
brake clean.seen the truck a few times since spotless.

Damian Frattasio says:

@CBURN86 the most common leak problem after pan replacement is from the pan
rail to block siliconed joint.it can be a challenge to keep clean and dry
even when youre not playing ‘beat the clock’. sometimes a tech can be
fooled by a leak at the rear passenger side of the pan near the starter,he
may think the pan or rear main is leaking but it is probably the high
pressure pump leaking into the valley, draining out the drain hole above the
starter,be carefull on this one. good luck, damian

BigDaddyMuddzy says:

Excellent video & idea. Really nice guys and willing to help out on the
phone. Wish they were in NJ as I’m looking for a reputable local diesel
shop!!!!

Ned Mihaylov says:

What does the kit include and how can I order one? I am leaking very bad on
my 99 7.3L.

CBURN86 says:

I just had my oil pan replaced. First time ive let a dealer service a
vehicle. I spent $1500.00. The next day it was leaking, its under a 12,000
mile 12 month warranty so it went back. Hope they fixed it right this time.
Looks like you have a nice product here.

Damian Frattasio says:

There is no such thing as an o-ring aftermarket pan for 7.3 ,and the pan in
a 7.3PS cannot be removed in chassis without cab lifting, trans removal, and
serious engine lifting. By the time you did it [if you could] , you could
have removed the engine easier.

Cassandra Demski says:

What about rust flakes coming off in the oil pan and getting in the engine?
Our pan is rusting and we were thinking about getting this. We have a 2000
F350, and it is leaking pretty good.

altdo69 says:

Are you kidding me – – – nice band aid

ajpurc says:

How much do you guys charge to install and how much is the kit?

DJatVRR says:

You can bet it’s time to replace tubo and oil cooler seals if your pan
looks like that. Might as well pull the engine and do it all correclty 1
time.
