Bill Burns says:

you don’t have to remove the kick panel to turn that switch off…

bertman668 says:

its alot easier than a BRAKE job ive done mine on my truck 2x on the front
and 3x on the rear, and another time on the rear of my buddies truck Bout
to do it again soon, as I have navigator springs up front instead of 4×4
expedition coils overs like i should

Toby Tyler says:

it’s brake job not “BREAK JOB” dumb ass!!!!

DecKonSoul says:

it would be cheaper if you actually buy the regular ones from the store,
and install it yourself. It would come out around 248 for both rear air
bags.

sps3006 says:

Sounds to me that they took their BREAK job seriously when it comes to help
after purchase. What can you expect from their “experts” if they can’t even
spell “brake job”……… more like mechanical midgets …….

david king says:

this vid was very helpful thanks

45geeman says:

By the way I called the help line on Sat. left a message and still no
response for help!! I wound up getting it all done over 2 days using a good
friend to assist. My suggestion is do the rear first! It may take about 2-3
hours if you have the right equipment and a good friend. Air gun impact
tool will save you so much time! Do the front on another day trust me you
will be sore and tired!! Good luck

45geeman says:

There is good news and bad news about this video. The good news is if you
order this part by mail you will get it in a timely manner. The bad news is
it is not as easy as the video appears. It will not take you the time it
takes to do a brake job!! The front spring is not easily compressible and a
tool at my local Autozone/O’reilly does not work for the front springs. I
had to use a hickey bar to compress this spring to seat it properly ( You
will need two people to accomplish this).

yamahonkawazuki says:

@45geeman not many companies are open on saturdays. did they ever return
your call?

JocelynneDiuguid says:

Can anyone point me to this video for this vehicle, but in a 2WD model?

John Arredondo says:

I just found a good mechanic n he fixed a ceal leak n problem was fixed for
my bags. But other mechanics is just waste of money n time they don’t. Know
what they don’t are doing.

Adam Corria says:

You dont need to remove the upper control arm to change the front air
shock, I didnt have to on my dads 1998.

Michael Ramos says:

Great video guys and super price for the kit!!!!THANKS STRUTMASTERS!!!!

TINMAN TIN says:

I have a 4wd 1998 Navigator. Am I able just to convert the rear suspension
only?

maconsumner says:

One problem though, my compressor died too. All the parts places around
were quoting between 400 to 700 for a new compressor. I also think there
was a leak in the air line. It’s done now and I admit that it does ride a
lot stiffer than it did with the air bags.

Kevinvansea says:

just curious as to why converting to spring suspension is being done. Is
there cost advantage or no original parts to replace the air suspension.
The job does not look difficult even to replace the air suspension bags.
What is the cost of converting over to spring as opposed to replacing air
bags?

god2yew says:

the airbags goes bad and cost more to repair or to get new ones. and less
problems in the future airbags will get damaged a lot faster then a spring
system

npike1477 says:

I just finished this job. Well worth the money. Considering this is a one
time price and project. It seems like everyone has had some sort of problem
with the air ride on the expedition. Air tools do make the project go
quicker and you’ll need a couple of jacks. Total project time was just shy
of three hours to do the front and back. It is true that you can do this
job if you can do your brakes. The hardest part was the new rear shocks.
Most trucks won’t need new shocks though.

1cleandude says:

It’s “Brake” job not “Break” job!!!

45geeman says:

Also the instruction sheet that comes with the kit is a photocopy and you
can barely see the pictures of what you have to remove. The rear shock
replacement is also a challenge the video shows the vehicle on a lift that
is not required to do a brake job!!! You will need a 3ton jack and 2 jack
stands and help from a good friend!!! My advice take your vehicle to a shop
and have them put this kit on for you. If you don’t and you get stuck doing
this install you will be without your car. Good luck

ININEdjWAKO says:

how much will this cost ???

peanuts2105 says:

@kingfaruk1978 A bit like sex then 😉

bertman668 says:

or you could but the monroe kit and spend 1/2 the money

Ben Nieves says:

so how do you eliminate the warning light?

Junior Morales says:

mine dont have air ride it just has springs in the rear and shocks in the
front its a 02 4×4 eddie bauer.

kingfaruk1978 says:

Just finished the front and rear conversion alone, took approximately five
hours. Had all the tools, and two jacks. An impact wrench would have been
helpful also a lift, but I didn’t. I am not a mechanic by any means, I did
think it was harder than doing my brakes, however not harder than doing my
brakes the first time, if I ever have to do this again, it will be a piece
of cake.

knoself says:

I have question…after when the conversion is installed, will the ground
clearance of the truck be like the air bags when fully extended, or lower
when they’re deflated? I wanna do the conversion but really like the truck
sits high and dont wanna sacrifice height…please answer and thank you

Toby Tyler says:

it’s gonna be lower but not by much.

maconsumner says:

My friend and I just decided that rather than replacing the rear bags and
compressor, we are going to a local scrap yard and getting a pair of rear
springs for a F150 and shifting over to air assist shocks in the rear. All
together, this repair/replace should cost around $250 and the problem is
permanently resolved. Yes, it’s going to ride a bit stiffer, but after all,
it’s a truck.

enriquesford says:

i drive a 97 f150 4×4, would the front shocks from this truck fit mine?

Ryan Boyce says:

just the front, the back has leaf springs
